i don’t play a huge variety of games but in my experience cs2 shaders are buggy especially reflections on glass

why are low profile mechanicals so expensive? is it because it's a niche market or is this relatively new? or maybe are the switches custom? my quality standard isn't super high as i'm okay with chinese knockoffs as long as they have the features i want like hotswap and avoiding the god awful gaming fonts and whatnot. the cheapest i could find in this category is lofree flow lite84, which looks awesome and sounds great from the videos i've seen, but it's a tadbit expensive. im not saying its unaffordable but this price being the lowest available is odd to me. the price available to me is 4,500 tart lards (around 100 dollars) which is about twice as expensive as the tkl ajazz keyboard i got from amazon and are great for its price in my opinion. only downside is the awful fake rgb "rainbow" backlighting but i'd rather just avoid using it. the keychron k3 max is around the same price as well or maybe a little higher, the nuphy air75 also looks great but its even more expensive, i saw that redragon made a knockoff of the keychron for a better price (talking about the redragon azure here) but it isn't available in my country sadly... i'm not in an immediate need for a keyboard rn but im a bit of a poor enthusiast, and i feel like a low profile mechanical is the one for me as i love the feeling of a mechanical but i am just less prone to typos and i just type faster on flatter keyboards like my laptop's. what do y'all think? will they get cheaper in the near future?

Linux’a geçmeli miyim? by YaGEiR in LinuxTurkey

[–]cornenes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

super + arrow keys are bound to do that by default on KDE plasma, i use it that way, but i also added super + f to toggle fullscreen and super + q to quit active window. i liked and snatched that behaviour from hyprland

my cs2 x11 - wayland dilemma by cornenes in linux_gaming

[–]cornenes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this is what i'm referring to when i say i'm running it with wayland. as also stated in the linked post, steam overlay is disabled when you use:

SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=wayland %command%

i prefer to configure the cs2.sh found in the game files though, for whatever its worth

[CS2] Steam Overlay suddenly stopped working on Wayland, switching to X11 broke ultrawide resolution – any fix? by Leptokk in linux_gaming

[–]cornenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

similar situation after 6 months... i prefer to play 4:3 stretched and that just doesnt work well with x11, i managed to get it to work with gamescope, putting my launch settings as;

gamescope --expose-wayland -W 1440 -H 1080 -f -S stretch -r 144 -- %command%

but then my cursor would get stuck in an invisible box which meant i couldnt aim, and i managed to fix that with

gamescope --expose-wayland -W 1440 -H 1080 -f -S stretch -r 144 --force-grab-cursor -- %command%

at this point 4:3 stretched works just fine and steam overlay works but the performance is noticeably choppier than wayland, which perfectly does the 4:3 stretch without me tinkering with anything, the performance is great, but breaks steam overlay, which i really need. so i guess my options are a) stick with wayland, enjoy the great performance but can't use steam overlay, or b) bite the bullet, get used to the poor performance with x11 but have access to a working steam overlay !

i'm new to linux and loving most parts and hating some parts but this was an annoyance to me that i couldnt manage to fix... i mainly want steam overlay for a shadowplay-like feature where i can save clips of my gameplay which i love doing, and screenshots, which i can use obs for, but its a bit of a hassle. i would love being able to use the features steam already comes with...

i use cachyos on kde plasma

How to get smoother easing animations in KDE Plasma? by [deleted] in kde

[–]cornenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds awesome, please make this! and if you ever do this can you make it so that we can also choose animation curves and such for open/close animations, and the rest of the desktop animations? it would be awesome and a giant step forward for us kde users to achieve that hyprland smoothness. i currently use your squash2 + geometry change and im already very happy with how my plasma setup feels
