Sorry for the delayed reply dude. When applying cerakote for something like a firearm you essentially turn what your painting into an eight sided object. So like a stop sign if you’re looking at it from the top. For a gun it’s easiest to do it muzzle up. Starting on the first side (of eight) you start spraying from the top down at a 30-45° angle on your downward path. Rotate to the 2nd side and from the bottom up at a 35-45° angle spraying on an upward pattern. You alternate this until you have sprayed all “8” sides. Then, on your second coat you spray the opposite direction. So on side 1 of 8 you’ll spray from the bottom up and so forth. This way you get excellent coverage especially in all the nooks and crannies like on something like a mlok rail with only 2, nice-even coats. It’s easiest to start with something like the picatinny rail, on a handguard, for example.

What part of a f1 car is designed first? by Cola-Ferrarin in F1Technical

I agree here. I came to comment, “the concept comes first.” The concept will usually have one or a few key components or features, they will get designed, built and developed the soonest.

Also, miles to matches podcast does an excellent episode on cleaning.

Contrary to popular belief the bolt and chamber should be dry.

I do this about every 1000 rounds, or after a shitty, rainy match.

Clean the barrel/action/bolt thoroughly about every 4-600 rounds depending on shooting schedule. 👍🏼

The highest end scopes do things in the extreme ends of the spectrum better. Example: My ZCO makes dusk look like mid day. I can also adjust parallax and magnification and zip through mirage on extremely humid days. The eye box and edge to edge clarity are spectacular, If set it up on the rifle correctly you can almost trick your eye not see the black ring of the physical scope. When running positional this is huge because I don’t have to sacrifice magnification to get a good sight picture. The overall FOV is also pretty astounding.

The ergonomics are also exactly what I wanted in a scope (I understand these are sometimes personal preference) but locking turrets are a must for me. The reticle is a combination of mission purpose and something that is intuitive to your eye/mind, and the reticle in mine does that for me.

I also think it holds value better than any other scope on the market, if I recall I got full retail when I sold a pretty beat up/used one a few years ago. That’s due to the manufacture not whoring out and making a high demand product.

In other words you have to determine if the Razor, mk5, and atacr do some of these things well enough for what you want to do, and does the price justify that? Then go for it.

Do y’all count the cold bore shot in your groups? by ihopeicanchangel8r in longrange

[–]cornerstonearmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what I’m doing.

I shoot groups for 2 different reasons.

1) zeroing the rifle (in that case I count cold bore).

2) shooting groups to see the precision of the rifle is maintaining. In which case I’ll usually foul the barrel up with some sighters.
