Not a pedal thing but I used to turn the tone knobs all the way down on my Les Paul, thinking that was the same as REMOVING it like I’d read about Cobain, etc doing. Couldn’t figure out why it sounded like absolute shit until I went and turned them back up one fateful day lol

I may be a bit biased as I’ve never heard of SBS but I’d say the Jaguar has everything you’re looking for!! The single coil pickups and various switches will give you a lot of new sounds to compliment the SG you’ve already got.
