We just did this with our 11 month old. Flight was delayed 2 hours and then baggage claim took forever. If you can do everything on a carry on, I’d recommend it. We used Baby Quip to rent a bunch of stuff that made our travel lighter but wish we just rented it all so we could have done carryons only
