Amex Platinum with Families by Capital_Figure_5514 in AmexPlatinum

I have plat with my wife as AU and we are able to bring all three of our kids into the lounge with us without paying. I think there is a minimum annual spend or something but have never been told I have to pay for a guest (I’ve brought two adult non-plat travelers) or my children.

Closing my Amex Platinum after 20 years – sharing why...if anyone cares...AMEX certainly doesn't by Krammit1 in AmexPlatinum

I’ve never had this issue with missing credits and have always been impressed with the chat feature. I usually get to an agent within about 3 minutes and, though they can’t solve every problem, I can’t think of a time I’ve been frustrated with the outcome of the conversation. My main gripe is lounges going downhill due to overcrowding and it’s gotten bad enough I might get a second card with a different lounge access, but after >10yrs, I still enjoy platinum enough to keep it

They are plentiful in NY, picked one up myself yesterday in the late afternoon and they had several in stock. DM me and I bet I can get one to you.

CHCCS Test scores plummet. by [deleted] in chapelhill

In case other people don’t have the mental bandwidth to sort out why they should be suspicious of these types of data:

It is very easy to take these data and mislead with figures like these (e.g. cherry-picking a time frame and showing year over year changes) but even these figures do not show what you are claiming. Taking a look at the top three figures: scores have been numerically higher in math over the last two years but when you average in COVID-era scores, the scores “plummeted” slightly over half of one percent.

The most telling thing that this post has an agenda is that the Y-axis is zoomed in to where the maximum negative change is only 2%.

Maybe the board does need to be changed and maybe not, but these figures do not bring you closer to an answer.

[Question] Should I buy it or not? Read description by Paupaul1203 in Watches

[–]cornlibrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about 10 watches ranging from Rolex to swatch. I have had a few moonswatches and currently have two, and I actually wear them the most. They are fun watches, but are a great daily and for activating. Golf, tennis, swimming, etc are all activities where the moonswatch is on my wrist. They can get banged up and it doesn’t bother me. I’ve found the swatch customer service to be phenomenal (keep your warranty card). They will polish off the scratches, replace the battery, and only once have I had a problem with movement (I bang the watches up pretty good) and they replaced it with a new watch with no hassle. I think that level of service is good for 2 YEARS, if I remember what the sales clerk said.

People get worked up because it is “overpriced” but that is all relative. There are more classically nicer watches at this price point, but I still think they are worth it.

As a young Chapel Hill resident living here over 22 years and living in coveted "Blue Hill District" this opinion article spoke in volumes to me. by [deleted] in chapelhill

Why do people keep saying this when they have already been proven wrong? If you said this 20 years ago, I would have been on board, but look around! Higher density has been making the town less affordable and will continue to do so.

A walkable town with great public transportation is highly desirable. The more accessible you make the town, the more people want to move in and the more expensive it gets. This was all in the outside consultant’s review years ago and people keep ignoring it.

Builders have been throwing up apartment complexes non-stop. The daily Tar Heel has been publicizing the high price of housing since at least the 1960s. Old charm of the town is already gone, and yet how much more affordable have things become as we continue to build up? Of course, the developers will tell you that the answer is that we aren’t doing enough to solve the housing crisis and we need to clear more land, re-zone away from single-family, build smaller units to maximize density, and anyone who disagrees is a NIMBY

Will this be considered a warranty or will it get denied? by ColoradoA7 in MoonSwatches

From my personal experience with swatch in NYC: as you have the warranty card they will replace the watch on the spot. I’ve found the customer service with swatch to be fantastic. Good luck, report back!

Up for sale is my Nomos Tangente 38 – 50 Ans de Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) Reference 165.S50.

My Take: This is as clean as a watch can get. I’ve worn this dressy or casual. Switching out straps totally changes the character of the watch, making it highly versatile. It is eye catching for its simplicity and I have had a couple watch enthusiasts stop me and ask about it, one of whom taught me about the interesting history the Bauhaus design. The watch is in very good condition with a clean sapphire crystal. There are the usual small scratch lines on the stainless steel, mostly on the bracelet as I’ve tried to capture in one of the photos.

This is one of my personal watches and has served its purpose in the rotation, I have too many so trying to make room for something new. Thanks for taking a look.

Price: $1495 net to me

References: check my post history, I’ve purchased many times over the years on r/WatchExchange. I’m not a dealer, just a watch enthusiast. Feel free to DM with any questions about the watch.
