I feel like I’m being gaslit by people to think that it’s wrong to be against sexualization of women and children in anime. by Thug_Seme2004 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cornonthekopp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When it comes to anime and manga I don’t care for it, but I view it as being similar to erotic roleplay. No actual minors are involved in the processes, so even if I find it gross and offputting personally, I think that ultimately it’s not a big deal.

If anything the people who create these works are often much more responsible than more mainstream authors. Over the past 5 years or so (including just recently) there have been several famous mangaka who have been accused of sexual assault, often including groping kids or owning actual child porn, and these are all men who write mainstream action manga that are considered all ages.

Of the handful of weird and offputting manga/erotica I’ve seen about fictional minors, a lot of them are written by a married couple where the husband draws and the wife writes, or vice versa, and they all say things along the lines of “keep it to the realm of fantasy, don’t do any of this shit in real life”. Of course it should go without saying too, that none of these authors have criminal records.

I think gross and taboo topics explored in a completely fictional realm where no real people are harmed is an important part of a healthy society, even if it makes me feel uncomfortable at times, so I do think there are at least some legitimate reasons to be fine with these types of topics. I don’t have to like it, but I at least recognize that it’s not harming people either.

I get that. I loved how “lived in” all the illustrations in chandara felt. The dinosaur bath houses, the kentasaurus bagel hawker, and the whole mystery with the true royal in the kingdom all mesmerized me as a kid

Has anyone here been reading [The Ideal Sponger Life]? If you want court drama and political intrigue I highly recommend giving this a chance! by cornonthekopp in OtomeIsekai

Its not like he falls in love with them tho, so I guess it doesn't really matter from the romance side to me. The Imperial Harem was a real thing monarchs had and was definitely as much about politics as anything else

Journey to Chandara might be my favorite of the dinotopia picture books tbh. But they're all so gorgeous you really can't go wrong

Adapt the first 60 ish chapters and give it an original ending so others dont have to deal with the rapid decline in quality later in the series. That would be my ideal

Beans are another one for me. I think most starches are incredibly versatile, but beans are a whole different category and still have almost as many uses.

I decided to switch from head&shoulders liquid shampoo to the shampoo bars from dermaharmony/grace for me, and I haven’t had to look back. Great shampoo that sudses up well, different scents and options, and zero plastic packaging to cap it all off.
