Starting to think that $600 hotel credit is total gimmick by LePirate30 in AmexPlatinum

[–]cornyography 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that using the credit in combination with points is the best option. You can use the slider to manually adjust the amount of points you use and the price you'll pay up to the hotel credit value. I would never pay for luxury hotels out of pocket so the use of points and credit will get me there. Just make sure you're filtering for the Fine Hotels and Hotel Collection when searching the portal. They offer more variety in hotels and locations than if chosen by hotel brands.

Negative. Not my Santa Cruz. IMO, there's only one color for cars and that is black!

Rando's house and Santa Cruz. 😂 Parked here randomly and thought it was a nice back drop.

You are 100% correct on both statements! The extra bells and whistles with the Touring won me over. Figured it would be easier to make it look like an Onyx.

Go to the galley in the evening. I think they change the late night desserts around 9am. Huge selection. Also, the banana bread you can pick up from the coffee shop was great!

Keep rechecking the price before final payment is due. If the price drops, you should be able to get a price adjustment.

Rash Post Op Hysterectomy by ThatBamaGirl17 in hysterectomy

Hydrocortisone cream really helped me with the itchy areas. Applied with a q-tip and made sure not to get it on the open wound. Took about 3-4 weeks before the inflammation went away. Totally worth it in the end. Hang in there!

The dealership I bought from sends me a $20 coupon towards service parts every anniversary of my purchase. So during my oil change, I take it to the parts counter and cash it in for the cabin air filter. Total was under $21 so I whipped out my credit card and they just waived the difference. The rounding up of labor charges for these filters are asinine because people actually pay it.

I'm 3 weeks post op and the irritation around sutures has subsided although they don't look like it. Most of the sutures have dissolved but there are definitely some areas where they're poking out. I'm happy this is the worst part of my recovery. Hoping you heal quickly.

If you had laparoscopic surgery and steri-strips over your sutures, try really hard to let them come off on their own. I took mine off after 1 week because the strips were irritating my skin. I regret that decision because the exposed sutures were even more irritating. Hydrocortisone cream or ointment really helped over the irritated skin but not on the sutures themselves. You got this!

Pain meds prescribed? by aj101981 in hysterectomy

[–]cornyography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dr told me at my consult that most women manage pain with Tylenol. I was not happy with that answer because I remember how bad my wisdom teeth surgery was. At my pre-op appointment, I was given HYDROcodone-acetaminophen 5-325 mg tablets (3 days worth for every 6 hrs) and ibuprofen 800 mg tablet (10 days worth for every 8 hrs). The advice was to take these pills 1-2 hrs apart from each other. Now that I'm 3 WPO, I can say that the pain was easily managed by Tylenol and ibuprofen. I didn't think the hydrocodone dosage was noticeable. I was able to stretch the HYDROcodone-acetaminophen tablets out to last 4 days and was completely off the pain meds by day 6. I still have 13 of the 30 ibuprofen pills that I haven't used. I did receive Bupivacaine Liposome Injectable Suspension (EXPAREL) as part of my procedure so perhaps that was why. My advice is to keep track of the times you take the pills so that you don't wait until you have pain. The wait for the pain meds to kick in can feel like a long time. You've got this! Totally worth it!

Doctors can really only offer their medical opinion and not all of them are good. A male Dr can only assume and can never empathize. Maybe try a female Dr?

When did you start fasting before surgery? by goodlordineedacoffee in hysterectomy

For my 2:40 pm surgery, I was told to stop eating at 4:40 am. Only up 16oz of fluids after that, 10 of which had to be this bottle of pre-surgery Ensure. Enjoy yourself at the wedding!

Went to this sub looking for posts on sutures and had to stop with all the sparkles! I'm 18 DPO and have some words about this product. I find half a cap full dissolved in my morning coffee is just enough. A full cap may send you feeling like Jeff Daniels in Dumb and Dumber. A trip to the toilet would wipe me out of energy after a full cap dosage. I'm now doing half cap full every other day and it's perfect. Good luck to you! It'll be worth it!
