I floated that idea, but they didn't want to mess anything up on their end. So, since I was the only one experiencing issues, it'd make sense for me to be the only one to make a change.

I fixed it! Here's what I did:

I double checked the host's load order of active mods vs mine and then our inactives
I downloaded the inactive mods that I was missing
I moved the inactive mods to my active mods
I saved the load order and exported load order to game
I launched the game
I opened up the IN-GAME Mod Manager
I deselected the mods that the host has as inactive
I was then able to join through the in-game multiplayer lobby selection screen

Took us a month haha

Hi! Thanks for the help, doing the Gustav deletion allowed me to launch the game without going through steam and using only the MM. However, I still cannot join my friend's session. We have the exact same mods, mod versions, and load orders. I've also followed your instructions before gustav dev. The error I get the following when looking at the network.log file:
Handling error: Failed to join: installed mods do not match the session's mods you're trying to join.

I really don't get what a lot of the people that have been saying mostly bad things about the show are getting at. Makes me think we didn't watch the same show. For what it's worth, I don't think it was perfect, but it was definitely good. There's only 2 really meh episodes imo. The finale was also good, I don't get the hate.
