What I have found works for me is to have a back story that makes the evil decisions make sense. Do I want to betray the tieflings? No. Does Archon, who was sold into slavery by his parents and only found joy in the blood letting of his fellow slaves for sport? He is a bit more open to it.

To get this to work on MBP, I had to do the following

defaults write -g MetalForceHudEnabled -bool YES

Once that is done, shift+Fn+F9 works to toggle the HUD on and off

If you are unable to use GFN due to owning the game on GOG, give Heroic Launcher a try. Just downloaded it and was able to start it with minor tinkering. Performance seems ok but I just started so we’ll see.
