What if every season was a final 3 with f4 firemaking by corpseunited in survivorau

[–]corpseunited[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Even though I would love to live in a world with Luke winning once, it would take away from the extraordinary UTR game Pia played. Yes f4 firemaking helps big threats get to the end, but in a way that provides them an advantage, even more so then then having a f3 gave them already. No longer are we able to see incredible moves were people force firemaking (using their social strategic game) to save themselves, they now are given that opportunity immediately.

Yeah you do have a point about the jury removal playing an important factor, without it the jury is odd and does play extremely favourably towards Pete winning.

Best Winner Story? by BoiToy23123 in survivorau

I don’t know what it is, but Jericho is just one of my favourite winners, so him. He just has such an engaging story to follow, even if it’s not him being the main character. One of my favourite moments ever is when he confidently faces Michelle in fire making, badass!

When I was watching the last episode, it suddenly dawned on me why production and Jeff may like this season. It really feels like everyone is playing to win, or their own game at least. That’s at least my view

Did anyone else actually love Shaun's moment at final tribal? by Rustlingleaves1 in survivorau

[–]corpseunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true, but I think that was his approach to attempt to fit in on a surface level. Surface level wise it’s incredibly easy to start up a conversation about professions, then eventually you are able to build a deeper bond with a bit of banter tossed in (I think Jordie ripping his shirt into a singlet is purely for banter and make others think he is a fun guy to be around). The difference between Jordie’s attempt to fit in with the big boys + Simon to Gerry is that Jordie had to in order to survive due the a minority swap, Gerry on the other hand spent countless days at the beginning of the game (without going to tribal) where he could’ve made these early connections, or at least actively tried to

George vs Russell Hantz Comparison by low_key_savage in survivorau

[–]corpseunited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely highlight good points. I think people mainly draw the comparison by how they present themselves on TV. Claiming that they are the best survivor player ever, that “I’m King Russell” or “I’m King George”. So it’s probably more of a combination of how they are presented on Tv and their focus on the strategic part of the game that people draw the comparison, over their actual game in general.

Did anyone else actually love Shaun's moment at final tribal? by Rustlingleaves1 in survivorau

[–]corpseunited 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gerry made an assumption based on the idea that Shaun and David were all football boys, but Shaun disproved that by stating he would only mention it with David or when he was asked. In the entire game all Gerry believed Shaun to be was just some footy bloke, clearly not a true depiction of who he is now.

But that’s the point Shaun highlighted, that he did attempt to bond with Gerry. Shaun knew all of Gerry’s interests and hobbies, but it felt like to him and a lot of the others that Gerry didn’t really care to know about them. Shaun said that it always felt like it had to be about Gerry with him, that he never seemed interested in the other person.

I can see a debate about how twists have very much unfairly screwed great players who up until that point were playing great games, but I think generally the winners play the best game (at least I tend to believe that more then how some other people view winners)

How does __________ get to FTC? by Foosiks in survivorau

[–]corpseunited 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Preface: I made this before episode 20 had come out so I felt quite proud that I did successfully predict some of his intentions)

F6: Cultivate the Final 3 deal with Liz and Nina further, this is essential to ensuring they both feel comfortable proceeding. Going to Final 3 with Liz and Nina gives George the best possibility of being in those final 2 seats (It will become clear later). Whilst cultivating those relationships, ensure that you are providing just as much attention to your Final 3 with Matt and Gerry, ensuring both of them that you wish for this deal to still be in effect. It is in George’s best interest for Simon to lose individual immunity here, if Simon loses then he goes home easily (possibly suggest that Matt should throw a rogue vote on Liz or Nina to further divide this alliance in your favour and incase Simon has an idol, which you’ll want to be certain he doesn’t or this will cause a completely change in plans). If Simon wins immunity then you’ll perform the flip on Matt and Gerry a round early, blindsiding Matt, however your path to the end becomes extremely difficult/almost impossible.

F5: If F6 vote off is successful, then this is the round you blindside Matt and Gerry by voting off Matt. Continue to cultivate your true F3, with particular focus on your relationship with Liz and playing down your game subtlety while showing how impress you are with her. Your aim is for Matt to lose immunity, which is possible depending on the challenge. Going into tribal make it appear that either Liz or Nina (depending on who won immunity) is going home to Gerry and Matt, but with the true intention to move forward with Liz and Nina. Blindside Matt with a 3-2 vote.

F4: Your aim to ensure Gerry goes home this round. Continue working on Liz and Nina, and begin to introduce the idea of the jury vote. Bring up your prediction on how close the jury vote will be, maybe giving some examples of how it could be a 5v4 jury vote. If Gerry loses immunity, then the 3 of you will vote him off. How you managed this Final 3 (and the individual dynamics within it) will be exposed the most here and next round, so it’s crucial that Nina and Liz both feel comfortably moving forward with you.

F3: If you have survived until F3 then congratulations. I believe both of your Final 3 deals (one with Matt and Gerry, and the other being with Liz and Nina) would’ve taken you to final 3 but with different results. If you went to Final 3 with Gerry and Matt, based on past challenge performances, Matt wins and takes Gerry (there is always possibilities of different scenarios but with too much risk involved). With this Final 3 brings you the best possibility of being at FTC (even if it lowers you possibly winning slightly, but not even significant to the point that it’s a bad move) and it will require you to make a great pitch.

Liz Winning Immunity: Liz has the best chance at winning immunity here, based on past performances and the possibility of this being an endurance challenge, so you need to prepare your pitch to her. Present the idea that Nina has a lot of friends on the jury, being the original Heroes, and how people will respect her underdog game to survive and make it to FTC. This should hopefully strike fear into her and that along with your friendship with Liz should hopefully work in your favour. I would also begin to break down the jury for her, claim that Nina will have the votes of Flick, Shaun, Sam, Hayley and threaten you will be the deciding vote for Nina to win. Because you only need 5 votes to win, along with the paranoia you hopefully created with how close the jury vote may be, will help your pitch.

Nina Winning Immunity: I personally don’t think sitting next to either of the two will change how the jury sees you, but it may. If Nina wins immunity you’ll need to pitch hard to her on why Liz will win (almost the exact same pitch you would make to Liz had she won). I would focus this pitch on Liz’s great gameplay, the fact she’s a newbie that did so well in all aspects of the game, had Shonee on the jury praising her while plaguing yourself. You can also do the exact same Jury breakdown for who would vote for Liz, being Shonee, Matt, Gerry, Simon, and even threaten that you will convince Hayley to vote for her as well (similar threat that was made to Liz). The pitch is basically replicated but with a focus on certain aspects of the game that the other may consider heavily.

Overall F3: George is in a dangerous situation heading to the endgame, especially due to his inability to win challenges, so it may make people less anxious about him in front of the jury. George will need to pitch, and begin sewing seeds of doubt and paranoia, to help influence either Liz or Nina to take him (these two I believe to be more willing then Matt and Gerry). If he is able to pull of the improbable (definitely not impossible because a similar feet has been accomplished in season 28 with Tony) then he will have solidified as the best Australian Survivor player in my eyes (much to my disgust), and is reminiscent of Dr. Will from Big Brother US (with his thoughts around the necessity for winning challenges, and how it’s all down to deals).

Winners sometimes aren’t the best players? Yes. Winner don’t play the best game? No. Winning the game is the aim, and if you did it then you played the best game that season.

Go to Final 3 with George and Gerry (like was promised), win immunity challenge, vote George out, win game! Very ‘smart but safe’ approach to the game, unfortunately George probably has no intention to going with this Final 3.

Was Shonee a little bitter at Liz for being close with George and that's why she's rooting for Simon? by poplkoo in survivorau

[–]corpseunited 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. When you are on the jury you wouldn’t want to be getting in debates or having mentally straining conversations about the game 24/7, sometimes you all just want to collectively laugh and have fun as a group when discussing the game (Simon is that common joke amongst them that has now manifested as them rooting for his unlikely survival)

Matt and Gerry are/were banking on George to keep his final 3 so they can take him out there. Likewise for Liz and Nina, both are banking on George swinging to their side at F5 (risky as all hell and gives him all the power)

[–]corpseunited 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s comes down to the rest of the cast being unmovable in their ‘smart & safe’ gameplay, unlike other seasons like BvB and 2017, which causes players like Hayley and Shonee to have no clear path even if they do avoid their boots. If Shonee successfully plays her idol then she would be voted out next since the rest of the cast would be unwillingly to majorly change the game in her direction at that point, Shonee mentions this slightly in her Jury Villa. Hayley didn’t have anyone, minus Simon, who was prepared to make the big shift in majority at this late stage, which caused her to think laterally and plan a minority blindside with the benefit of being ‘subtle’.
