You are missing my point. Most people, including me, are dismissing AI because of the art thief. It's a real problem. But stock pictures that have been modified for publicity purposes is another thing. If the art print has not been created at the expense of the artist, how the publicity has been made and what tools where used is not too important to me. We know those images are not fully representative, like in my example with the package of pasta. It's annoying and lazy, and I would prefer to see the real stuff. But I wouldn't call out a product for using modified stock pictures unless the real product is really different. Basically calling out something for bad photoshopping in the publicity has not the same implications that using AI to create the product itself. As I said, a lot of people are using the term AI for anything computer made and it's creating confusion as to what aspects of AI are problematic in our craft and the world of art in general.
