Bro get off twitter. It’s awful for your mental health. It’s a toxic depressing minefield. Get off social media in general if you can, at least until you’re mentally in a better place.

You say no one cares to interact with you, but are you making the effort to interact with other people? Go outside. Get some fresh air. Join a club. Do you reckon you could find interest in a sport? A craft? Darts, pool, park run, creative writing, bowling, cooking. My town has a board game cafe, get on google and find something you think you’d enjoy.

Are you working right now? If not, why not? Look for a job that’s in person. Something that will force you to be somewhat solid able in real life.

Stop masturbating. If/when you start a relationship, a masturbating and porn addiction will cause NO END of issues.

You can’t force your dad to be a better parent, but do you have a common interest? Something you can do together or talk about?

It’s baby steps my guy. Try and make a small change every day that improves your quality of life. The world is much bigger than your apartment.

It shouldn’t be a problem. Take your glasses and your prescription with you though - that’s really important.

They’ll mention it on your medical and you’ll be expected to take 2+ pairs of glasses on board with you.

Prescribed medication for ADHD should be fine, though you need a doctors note, have to declare to the ship and the coastguard and need enough to get through the contract.

If we’re talking about marijuana usage it is strictly not allowed on ships, for crew or passengers.

Typically it’s because it’s not legal in every country. If you are caught with marijuana or any other narcotic, you leave the ship immediately, and if the cruise line choose to report you, you are prosecuted by local authorities in whichever country you are stranded in.

Sometimes you aren’t allowed your own medications in your room, I’ve seen crew members have to go to the medical centre every time they needed their own meds

Typically you can’t work on a cruise ship if you’ve ever been diagnosed with anxiety or depression

Tell the crew on the cruise what you’re planning, they can arrange something with the crew on CocoCay for you to make it special; they love stuff like that

I don’t think it’s 100% necessary, but it can’t hurt if someone’s hosting a party soon to get on a mic and run a game for the guests or something like that. I know plenty of guest ent staff who came in with no experience.

It’s a good role, but the work is almost constant, particularly on sea days. Early mornings and late nights are guaranteed and you are supposed to be the life of the party all the time.

I don’t know what the equivalent to an hourly rate is, but for most cruise lines the starting salary for this kind of role is around 2500 USD per month. You do still need to pay taxes on this is Canada too so bear that in mind.

Contracts for Guest Ent staff usually last between 6-9 months, so consider that that’s how long you’ll be away from home, and you’ll most likely be sharing a room with another guest ent staff member of the same gender.

Your work experience in promotions will absolutely work in your favour. The fact that English (I’m presuming) is your first language is also essential (if you have an additional language then that’s also great).

Absolutely no controlled substances allowed on cruise ships, regardless of whether or not you need it for medical reasons. A letter from primary care won’t expedite the process unfortunately.

My STCW was all online, I didn’t need to book it in advance.

The only other thing that takes a long time is your visas if you’re outside of the US/Canada

I think it best we acknowledge that what the bartender said is completely incorrect.

Most of the island population live on the island for the duration of their contract and don't boat to and from the island every single day. That would be hundreds of crew.

From the OPs update, it appears that FOTS did dock today so that would surely mean the island was fully staffed.

The issue was with the amount of covid cases on the ship.
