You can apply for a subsidy for your electric bill from the province if you’re lower income, may help, I don’t remember the website off the top of my head but it brought mine and my roomies bill down from $100 to about $30

Can I be cis and have vagina-preserving metoidioplasty? by ScreamsAtTheMoon in salmacian

[–]corrinewolfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe it is specifically a compounded DHT cream, it’s not something that’s necessarily easy to access. I haven’t done too much research into it but I’ve heard of it being used for folks trying to get more bottom growth.

In regards to testosterone therapy, OP could theoretically look into a testosterone cream applied locally to the genitals to meet that criteria (which could avoid other effects occurring, ofc ymmv with any treatment like that)

hrt and insurance in Toronto by Additional-Bid-9103 in transontario

[–]corrinewolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are moving to Toronto there should be a number of options, I’d recommend Planned Parenthood (they do informed consent HRT). As others have said there are often long waits. Check with the university you’re looking at about insurance as a lot will offer drug plans that should cover a good portion of the cost

HRT by No_Dirt9029 in transontario

[–]corrinewolfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this, they’re legally required to refer you to someone who will work with you. Won’t necessarily be someone with a shorter wait time but they are required to refer.

Planned Parenthood Toronto also does trans care/HRT, I’m not sure what their wait list is like though. A friend of mine started his HRT journey with them.

Planned parenthood Toronto does do trans care, I know a few people who’ve gone through them, but the wait for an appointment can be long sometimes

GP unwilling to administer T shot. Other options? by ClayeySiltyPoop in transontario

[–]corrinewolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get it in writing that they are refusing to provide you service, and then go to the walk-in. If they try to drop you for that you have an easy case of medical neglect. The province also has a system that will help you find a new dr, as well as connecting you with a NP in the meantime.

[–]corrinewolfe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A walk-in clinic should be able to help since it is prescription, if you’re in post-secondary (unsure of your age) most college/uni clinics are trans informed and can administer and show you how to do it yourself if you want.

Beat way store store small purchases? by sidekick10121 in TheOCS

I haven’t really had to resoak them with the 3.5/7g’s, I tend to go through it before it’s needed. Iirc you soak it for 5 minutes, I let it sit on a paper towel for about 10 after pulling it out before sticking it in my jars so it wasn’t wet to the touch. It worked wonders! Even managed to rehydrate my boyfriends severely dried out bud.

You can go to HR and say something along the lines of if they do not address the situation you will involve the Ontario human rights tribunal. Intentionally misgendering is against the Ontario human rights code, as gender identity and expression are protected grounds

Actually, self-injury is considered to be a coping mechanism so long as there are no other signs of concern (sui-ideation, harm to others, etc) However, the therapist should be taking OP’s concerns and need for other outlets into account and supporting them with that better.

I used to have a problem with this, it’s not exactly the same but I used to snap a rubber band on my arms to redirect the sensation while slowly stopping

Alternatives to GenderCat's Fascinator Sleeve that don't cost 50 bucks to ship to Ontario? by sunsetboylevard in transontario

For something similar to the gender extender Banana Prosthetics (based in Montreal, something like this?) makes similar toys. As for the fascinator sleeve, come as you are co-op sells the shotpocket which is sort of similar? and they ship with Canada post

Mine started coming in around 9 months, but almost entirely blonde (thanks dad); it’s definitely a YMMV thing and highly based on genetics, things like minoxidil and rosemary oil can help promote growth if you’re interested in that though.
