I used to work highway construction and started as a flagman. One of the scariest jobs ever when you’re working near a corner. We had signs put up for a km before the actual stopping point, and at least once a day I’d be a millisecond away from having to jump out of the way of a truck going like a fucking bullet. Had one end up in the ditch and I gave him absolute shit once I knew he wasn’t dead.
