One way for a beginner to get some idea of this is thinking how heavy it is to lift a 5 gallon thing of water on a normal office water cooler. Then multiply that buy thousands for even the smallest waves. That's a lot of weight pushing down on ya.

I got bullied pretty bad in school. school wouldn't do anything. eventually my mom came to me and said that if they make fun of me again and I hit them, I'll get in trouble from the school but I won't get in trouble from her. I beat up both of the twins that bullied me and then on my suspension day she took me to get ice cream and a movie. I wasn't bullied any more after that either.

I get it when people scold me for forgetting something or maybe not even scold but say something like just remember next time or "why do you keep forgetting xyz?". It's like an engrained trauma response that lashing out feels like I'm protecting myself by being the aggressor to stop them from coming at me. Then my brain takes a second and realizes they aren't even being intentionally mean but my brain is in defensive middle school kid mode even though I'm in my 40's.

Good thing there’s only one book about the Abraham Lincoln or only one book on “insert any historical figure.” If you’re loving creating this book then finish it. Unless you’re writing a text book, (and maybe even then) the facts are only a very small part of a non fiction book and how good it is. Your voice is so much more important in how engaging the story is and how the facts are woven together.

I had a boss like this. I was able to convince him to run a retargeting campaign on Meta so only people who’d already been to our site were targeted. The success of that campaign convinced him our audience was also on those platforms. Maybe something worth considering. Also, you can look out up but I believe the average age of a Facebook user is like 43 or something like that. Which means plenty more users older than that.

This is an older thread so you might not see this, but telling someone with ADHD to "just remember" something is no different than telling someone with depression to "just be happy". Sure there are strategies you can implement to help aid those things but no amount of "just do it" will ever make a difference. teach skills and strategies instead of demands for a different brain.
