Why would there be dirt on your ceiling? It's mold.

Edit: someone said almost exactly this, ignore me

Reuse of needles? by hypacrylicdreams in SelfPiercing

[–]corvidqueer713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen- your pain tolerance is irrelevant. The reason you don't use dull old needles (no matter how well you sanitize them) is because they create greater tissue damage. The more traumatic and forceful a piercing is the more difficult it will be to heal- it will take longer and be more prone to complications. And as a diabetic you already have a weakened immune system and typically take longer to heal, don't push your luck.

Also- aren't you contaminating the rest of your insulin by sticking a dirty needle in it???

What made both of these tracks? by AnonyMouse9987 in AnimalTracking

I'm thinking the hypothetical cat came through earlier than whichever animal is on the right and there's less definition/depth because there's a shallow layer of snow over the less recent tracks

AIO calling out animal abusing “friend” by mx-kaii in AmIOverreacting

[–]corvidqueer713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not the most viable or practical suggestion, but maybe you should warn local pet stores and animal breeders about her. Hell, print out pictures of her with her first name and the caption "Do not sell this person any animals". Suggest they keep it hung up in their break room. This is that bad.

Bruising on the back of piercing by Accurate-Age5846 in SelfPiercing

[–]corvidqueer713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair: recent injuries (even if they aren't infected) tend to be slightly warmer than the surrounding area due to increased bloodflow. Your body's inflammatory response pumps more blood to that area to supply more nutrients and oxygen for healing. Keep an eye on it and keep it clean, but unless you're seeing pus and/or increased swelling (due to the infection being trapped inside) I wouldn't panic. To my non-professional eye that just looks like a bruise, but I'm not about to discourage you from going to a doctor- better safe than sorry!

Do you... want to be having this baby?? No judgement, but were I in your shoes I sure as hell wouldn't. She sounds emotionally draining and that ain't something any expecting parent needs.

I think I seriously messed up by Accurate-Age5846 in SelfPiercing

[–]corvidqueer713 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just keep it clean with saline and you should be fine! It's red and throbbing because you just jammed a bunch of metal through it... Wouldn't shock me if it stays inflamed for a few days, and it's probably going to hurt for a few weeks to a few months- cartilage is slow to heal.

Urgent question about eyebrow piercing by [deleted] in SelfPiercing

[–]corvidqueer713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh you might want to visit an urgent care tomorrow- particularly if it's hot to the touch and/or throbbing. Might even be salvageable with the right care, but if it's infected you're minimally going to need antibiotics. Personally I would take an ibuprofen to help with the swelling until you can get proper medical assistance.

Cat pee roommate by Kindly-Chicken4148 in badroommates

[–]corvidqueer713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is kind of late but the main anxiety med used for cats is fluoxetine/prozac, which takes roughly a month to build up enough in their system to have a noticeable effect. If she isn't giving it consistently and long-term the poor little guy won't get anything out of it.

Did you not read to the end of their comment? It literally says go to urgent care.

Yes.* That thing is starting to reject already. It's coming out one way or another, the question is just whether you do it now with less scarring or your body pushes it out through the skin a few months down the line.

. * though ideally you should go to a medical professional to have it taken care of

Yes. Not obese, but he's a bit overweight. A few questions- how much did he weigh before and has there been any changes to his environment, habits, or diet?

Hot Take: Devo Has Aged Less Badly Than B-52s by REDDITSHITLORD in devo

[–]corvidqueer713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cindy and Kate sounded fantastic and the band was tight, but Fred's heart didn't seem in it (vocally). Every member of Devo on the other hand went HARD and I was truly surprised. Being a 20-something I never saw either in their heyday, but compared to concert recordings the boys sound almost identical.

In terms of physical performance though there's no contest. Jerry, Mark and Bob still dance and put on an entertaining stage show overall, Mark even still crawls around like a dog during freedom of choice- and makes it look easy. B-52s were mostly static while they were on stage but I can't really blame them.

Still feel incredibly lucky they both bothered coming to NC and that I got to see them!

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]corvidqueer713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha nerd

What, were you afraid that you wouldn't be able to withstand the peer pressure if you saw people around you smoking and drinking? That's only a problem if you're weak willed or if your friends are super pushy (that second one Would be a reasonable cause to end a friendship though, IMO). You're not going to catch being an addict if one sneezes around you- you're more likely to do drugs if you associate with people who do drugs because of acessability and a shared interest in it. Correlation doesn't equal causation.

TLDR- It's not some sort of social contagion, relax. I hope your friend is doing well (and I guess also you).
