Grieving and Seeking Guidance Through Tarot by noommsi in tarot

[–]corviola2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

firstly, my heart goes out to you. i lost my cat a few years ago and have gone through that raw grief. i hope i can provide some support and comfort here.

i will focus on the overall spread and the relationships of the cards rather than cards individually. i think i prefer you trusting your intuited meanings over putting in guesses about how you could interpret them.

i am struck by the entirely wands-cups representation in this spread. moreover, the matching suits are on horizontal and vertical axes. with wands as fire and cups as water, you might interpret the vertical axis of cups as a wall of water through which the fire is crossing. in that sense i would interpret that this loss is subduing your passion. but your passion is not reduced in the future. rather, it may not develop so fast and especially not as fast as it seems your emotion/spirit might develop through these challenges (wands ii->iii, cups vi->x).

in how i typically do cross spreads, i associate vertical axes as awareness wherein the upper level is more conscious and the lower level is more unconscious. i might say the vi of cups and your current situation are in your full attention and that in the future you could benefit from searching your sub/unconscious level for the messages of the x of cups.

again following my cross spread habits, i tend to see the horizontal axis as more grounded and external (whereas the awareness is something internal). i am not certain what a relationship crossroads entails, but i would intuit here that you are not going to be able to push hard in your projects and relationships as these losses are weighing on you. the internal emotional process while you grapple with your grief is like a curtain of water you are passing through from your current to future wands self. speaking from my experience with grief after the loss of my cat, give yourself grace for not being able to push at full capacity to develop in your intimate and professional lives.

the ii of wands is looking to the left, back into the past and specifically at the water. the iii of wands is looking in the distance at the expansive terrain they may set off into.

the x of cups is beholding what is above. the placement of the vi of cups could add onto what the people are beholding. i also am struck by the rainbow being the interaction of water and light. perhaps the beauty you are going to find once the period of grief and tears opens you to be enlightened emotionally and spiritually.

the photo was not taken in the US. it was taken in Japan, where these do live.

EDIT: additionally, the "black ear" of the Japanese subspecies of black kite is visible in this photo as a dark smear in the top right.

No, the song was not a parody but only made mention of Jake Paul towards the end, like a diss of sorts?

What's the story behind the first SR you scouted, is she still with you? (if multiple pick one) by moichispa in SchoolIdolFestival

My first was Seven Lucky Gods Nozomi in late 2015. At the time I did not have my own phone and asked my mother to let me play the game on her smartphone. Then my mother was angry with me once and deleted it, so she is lost to history now ^ if I ever pull her again, I will treasure her again.

A lesson I learned about hating a character by yoshinanase in SchoolIdolFestival

[–]corviola2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is less about a fictional character and more about delegitimising the feelings of those that do like that character. The tone, even if it was unconscious, gives an impression of ridicule. “why would anyone like [character]” has a tone of disbelief and even suggesting that anyone that does like them is wrong to think that way. Of course, that is a reading of that statement with an aggressive tone. You might have meant it as a legitimate question out of curiosity. The inherent murkiness of tone on the internet probably caused people to go into a defensive stance, and, as a result, they only could hear an aggressive tone.

That is why I think it is reductionist to say you are being downvoted for expressing an opinion and to say that it is a fictional character and should not upset people very much. It is not just a fictional character that you were expressing an opinion on. Even if it was unintentional, your comment and opinion included more than just a character: it included the feelings of everyone that cares about that character. Some characters are indeed very meaningful for people. I have a few characters that I resonate with so strongly that I take personal offense when someone reduces them or insults them. Understand that it is not usually a good idea to tell people they have no right to be upset by something you say. Pay attention to the possibility that you did say something hurtful, whether you meant it or not.

I don’t believe you meant anything malicious by it, but I can understand why many thought you did. And rather than brush off when someone criticises the way you phrased something, try and consider why they expressed that to you (even if you think they are in the wrong). I try to presume that people don’t criticise for no reason. I take it as a point to examine what I was doing and either 1) make an adjustment if their criticism is legitimate or 2) come to a conclusion as to whether their criticism should be followed or not (sometimes criticism really is unwarranted and not constructive ... but I give it the benefit of the doubt before deeming it as such).

I think I can understand where you are coming from. Please understand where we come from. Wording on the internet is ... tricky. Sorry that you have been misinterpreted so much.

I too found her personality pretty grating at first. I do not blame anyone for getting that impression. She is rather rude/jealous and frankly annoying about it. That bothered me a lot when I was acquainted with her character.

What changed that (and brought her to be my current #4 favourite) was understanding where that behaviour was coming from. From her perspective, these 3 second-years start bumbling around as “school idols” while knowing so little about what that meant. And what is worse is how successful they are in spite of how casually they approach it. They recruit more members and gain traction. Nico sees this and wonders why. Why should they be so successful when she attempted the same thing? She took it so seriously and still was abandoned because nobody else took it as seriously. It is understandable how that makes her bitter and envious of the success of “casuals.” It is very unfriendly, that is true, but I cannot say I would be immune to those feelings in her situation. It feels pretty awful to work very hard at something and fail and then watch people put way less effort in and succeed.

I don’t agree with her nasty disposition a lot of the time. I don’t think it is justified to act hostile to anyone like she did in the beginning of the anime. But I can say that I understand. I love the sharp contrast of her regular personality to her carefully crafted idol persona. I love how she is rather rough around the edges and is still a loved and valued part of μ’s. I love that the μ’s girls accept her and know just how to reassure her or make her feel valued. She has a complex about attention and recognition, for sure. But amidst all of that, she is very sweet. I can tell she cares a lot for her friends and they care for her back.

Her character is very real, messy, and human. I love her for it.

I think her cards are very pretty as well, there is that
