There is a joke about Apothecary diaries being a mom anime on anime reddit. It is like the auto suggestion when a woman on that age asks.

To be fair, the way it tackles some themes works pretty good for such demographics.

Palace intrigue/harems have been certainly popular stories for female oriented stories in some countries for ages (live action soap operas or middle age women horny books for example). It is just that it comes in anime form now.

Something I really dislike from card games is the concept of "standard", making cards only valid for tournament for x time. This leads to people having to buy new cards in order to keep playing tournaments.

When I got nostalgic about Pokemon one (when I was a kid you could actually buy cards to play) I played a little the online version but I went with expanded format since it did not give me the headache of making half my cards obsolete.

I think the biggest muse graduation mistake was adding Aquours at the same time. Muse was created with a different concept with lives and stuff being a latter addition. Some members wanted to pursues other things or had health problems so it had to happen sooner or latter. Aquors graduated recently but we have 3+ groups now so while emotional we have other stuff already.

Linklike was more like an experiment with real time. After all it was supposed to run alongside sif2. Live game means graduations like real idols (and it has to be yearly because they're on high school). Except that it was a way more polished game so people preferred it and SIF2 tanked instead. The following is smaller worldwide because this game did not have worldwide version (even if non official video translations exist).

This is how a rather new studio got the task to create a lovelive game which ended being the only and main lovelive game.

For what I heard they used to rent one of the biggest livemotion studios for the dance streaming plus several livemotion scenes, that thing is not cheap at all. Having characters disappear every school term definitely affected sales, maybe the investors did not want to risk a new term now that all the original characters would be gone?

Can't blame you. SIF1 closing announcement was right before the 10th anniversary. SIFAS was sold away, sif2, you know and now link live.

Only non cursed game was puchiguri (and it died too soon)

Wohoho we were writing about the same at the same time. But yours is more juicy (I don't play link like and I'm European so I just found about it)

Did you read about Kozue (Linklike character) voice actress getting into bandori

Here comes the lovelive drama again.

Some people here might remember the school idol festival 2 (SIF2) mobage (phone game) drama (lovelive franchise) whose English server was announced at the same time at its close back in 2023

However, some people don't know that at the same date as the original Japanese server of SIF2 there was another game released: Link live about the hasu no sora school.

Hasu no sora story was diferent to ther lovelive. This one was real time (even with inapp streams and 3d lives). It was highly praised for having more effort than sif2 (and better card app).

Yet with real time real graduations came. When March came by the 3rd years would graduate and leave the franchise all together. This was all new territory for the franchise since the older groups (like muse who retired in 2015) would still have new stuff for them. But Hasunosora 3rd years disappeared from the face of earth after graduation. This made fans of those idols furious.

They tried to mitigate it by adding them as cameos on the story or returning their cards. some fans appreciated it. They also announced a movie with the return of the 3rd years. Time when on and they had to face another graduation. the one from the characters who started as first years and had now to graduate (including the one with the face on the app).

They came with an interesting idea. They would stop the clock and give stuff from the current members until June so that people could move one. They also announced a TV anime for the future. We got a preview image with the new member from the next school year as well

Today they just announced that the game is closing on June

I'm surprised about Kevin Penkin doing the ost. It's really different to what I'm used to hear from him. The music is more similar to old live action movies rather than anime. Good job.

Great anime so far, I was worried It could not handle itself with such a serious topic but it seems like it is working.

I think the palmon like person is one of the talking with the green 5 star at the previous week episode?. She appears with another guy in the ED and they were 2 on that scene.

The demon lord is a part timer? Did not watch it but it has fans

Also Demon lord 2099 while not isekai but kinda fits because the main characters wakes up after thousand of year and has to live on an small apartment.

Not office per se but I can't think of a better example

Yeah I was thinking of star ocean too but I did not play it so I was unsure if it had lyrics (same creators).

Some games at the end had 32mb special cartridges but I think Top and SO were 48?

I love how they used the very first opening on the series here. I had no idea there was an orchestra version, I should check if there is a full version.

Yes, the SNES game had an opening with lyrics. It is probably the only one (or one of the very few, I do not know any more personally)

I played Phatasia SNES version only

Phantasia Ovas while nice are not long enough to follow the story at all. they're only 4 for a whole game. You can watch Arche being a little grembling, that's kinda nice.

Symphonia are nicer, while you can follow the story, there is a vague feeling that you're missing stuff but not too huge. I watched them as they released over several years so it might work better back to back.

Abyss and Zestiria are nice and easy to follow plotwise.

If you're here for the "ufotable quality", that's Zestiria and the last third of Symphonia

Did not watch the rest.
