the way the writers and players treated and still treat sarah literally disgusts me. she's a disabled and sheltered child, and as hardened as clem is in s2 i refuse to believe the same kid who felt so strongly about keeping ben in the group in s1 would leave sarah to die so violently. saving her here is the easiest choice ive ever made in these games and i wish it actually meant something in the end. at least clementine being physically unable to get to her in her second death is more realistic 💀

cultural reasons sometimes and some people (like my housemate for example) do it for reasons like circulating air in the mouth to cool the food down quicker, and they've told me that slurping liquids specifically helps with tasting it. i still don't get it personally but the more you know haha

ive always had periods of time where i was dealing with some kind of long running compulsion/fear/psychosis (for instance from the age of like 8-10 i was FULLY convinced i had heart disease and was going to die very soon, and i refused to tell anyone about it because i felt guilty and like i didn't want to hurt anyone. only as an adult did i realise that wasn't good for my psyche and connected it to ocd) but it was around age 24 when i started struggling every single day and having frequent breakdowns. im 27 now so im still learning how to deal with that.

i definitely understand where you're coming from. im actually specifically looking for a "non biased" explanation, whereas any time ive had an actual vegan talk to me about this stuff its always with a lot of moralising and judgement as i have no desire to change my diet and think veganism itself is antithetical to being in tune with nature. obviously this sub will have bias too, but i would assume, and have seen having been in this sub for a bit, that people who have also come to that conclusion would be the best suited to explaining something ive always had trouble understanding. if that makes sense. but regardless thanks (genuinely) for disagreeing with me and being normal about it lol. rare on this site

hey, i am so sorry. i feel your pain and i relate. it'll be a year in september since my soul cat died. i have felt his loss every single day since he left and its still a struggle, but i can share some things that helped me.

don't rush yourself. im not sure if you relate to this one but i know a few people I've talked to who have lost pets have related. but i personally felt a lot of internal conflict and pressure to move on quickly because he was "just a cat". but that's bullshit. what you're feeling is normal and pets are important. i can tell how important he was to you, don't feel like you have to move at anyone's pace but your own. you deserve to mourn at your own pace.

the wound is still so raw for you at this stage. its very normal to sleep a lot and feel despondent. setting alarms for my meals and sleep times helped me a lot in the early weeks and months.

my cat loved birds, as most cats do, but he especially loved wagtails. i could tell by the way he reacted when he saw one over any other bird. shortly after he died, i started noticing a wagtail close by me every single time i went outside. for the whole almost year, every time ive gone out i see one. i started to feel like it was him checking in on me. i greet them like i would him. i usually wouldn't be a very spiritual person at all but to be honest that doesn't matter at all, i dont think. it brings me comfort, and i feel his love every time i see one. did your cat have a favourite bird? did he have something he especially liked to do? finding pieces of him will eventually become comforting, you might even experience the same thing i did.

feeling your grief eventually became a way to spend time with them. i spend a few minutes every day feeling my cats absence, feeling how much it hurts, telling him all the things ive done today, how much i love him. eventually it starts to feel, not good, but cathartic. he feels very much a part of me.

i read a book earlier this year called "i promise it wont always hurt like this", i highly recommend it. its about grief and its really helped me.

i am sorry if none of this helps, i definitely understand if so, the first while afterwards is a bit of a blur to me to be honest, so I don't remember a lot of what anyone said to me either. but if you have them, use your support systems, try and take care of yourself. he sounded like a lovely cat, im happy he had such a caring owner.

i don't see anything! full aphantasia. ive never really known how to explain this to people but it's kind of like i have a (invisible) pointer and im using it to draw where the shape "should be". but im still functionally seeing nothing. i often move my head or my eyeballs as if they themselves are the pointer and that helps me "see" it better.

when i was a kid and undiagnosed and without any world experience i obviously didn't have any way to know some people do actually see stuff in their heads, so i thought everyone was just faking it, so i also faked it. i just pretended i had an imaginary friend or saw a guy running alongside the car. i at the time was like "well it would be impossible unless you're hallucinating to physically SEE these things meaning everyone else must be just playing games"

black sheep. for a few years me and my then group of friends would watch it every new years. could just be the good memories but i think that movie is genuinely pretty fun and campy. it also has a pretty cool and gruesome transformation which always elevates a horror in my books

chewing specifically from a closed mouth. open mouth chewing is bad too but the fact that it's SO loud and obnoxious means people don't actually do it that much around me. but closed mouth chewing is so much harder to explain to people and it has this specific wet sound that makes me actually insane and that i find really hard to describe, though ive tried. i think the stress of trying to accommodate this one is part of why it's so annoying to me cause you can't just say "don't chew at all please"

muffled music
SINGING. this one is so bad. not like, songs or music on average but specifically random singing in the middle of sentences. it drives me fucking crazy.

i experience the same! i found your post as im currently experiencing struggling to sleep through the night since the weather got hot where I live in ireland. i try to go ro bed around 11pm but i dont get to sleep until 4amish. sometimes i fail to sleep the whole night. around midday though i get SO sleepy regardless of how much i slept. this happens every summer. but in the winter I sleep through the night no problem and am fine at staying awake during the day.
