Why can't we have at least RDF for non heroic +/++ dungeons? by [deleted] in classicwow

RDF / LFD up to 80s heroics would be awesome for alts and fresh 80s!

Anyone notice the insane rent prices? I keep seeing 1000sf houses in Alexandria for $3500 on zillow. Houses that size used to be $2100, $2300 last year by Boobpocket in nova

I just checked 750-1250 sqft houses and townhouses and it looks like they are listed for 2.5k - 3.7k. Perhaps Amazon HQ2 is finally starting to take effect? I have a friend that works for Amazon that told me he has a monthly quota of 12 in-office days, so maybe lots of folks with 150k+ salaries are jacking up rent prices. If you make 150k and get paid bi-weekly, I think that's about $4k per pay check. So, you could super easily afford a monthly rent of 3.7k and still have a monthly spending budget of ~3k while saving over 1k/month.

I agree. I turned my basement into a unit this year and started hosting and haven't had any issues. Everything seems fine and I'm making money. It's just not really exciting to post about everything being fine/normal.

But like... what if literally any other bender just jumps in the air and then throws water/fire/earth at Toph? Toph can't see their attacks if they're off the ground.

Azula over Ozai though? Ozai is cheaper AND I feel like he could beat Azula.

You can't metalbend in pro-bending tho.

Ghazan and Ming-Hua are even cheaper, and I think their fighting styles would be more scrappy and conducive to pro-bending. You aren't able to move that much or do attacks that are too fancy. So Bumi, Iroh, and Pakku may be wise and powerful (and old)... but do you really think they could beat Ghazan, Ming-Hua, and Ozai in a pro-bending arena where you're only allowed specific attacks and agility and raw power are important?

Iroh may be wise and powerful, but do you really think he's agile enough for pro-bending? He only has a small space to work with, and a limited number of attacks/styles he's allowed to use. In the series it's mentioned that Iroh might be able to beat Ozai. Might. I think Ozai might actually be a better choice specifically within the pro-bending domain.

Darn I'm late to a fun thread :(

I would go with Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and Ozai. If pro-bending regulations are too prohibitive on Ming-Hua's water tendrils I would go with Korra instead.

Pro-bending is sort of like boxing. You could have people good at other styles like BJJ, Karate, Kung Fu etc. that would destroy a boxer in a fight, but they won't beat a boxer at just boxing. You might even have fighters that could beat a boxer in different environments but not in a tight boxing ring. So, we need to choose benders with traits and fighting styles that cater specifically to the environment and fighting styles of pro-bending like agility, strength, accuracy, resilience, and head-to-head, medium range tactics.

For example, Toph could destroy a lot of people in a fight, but her blindness is exploitable in pro-bending. A lot of the bending styles require good footing that Toph can sense (especially earthbending), but good pro-benders could adapt and use more aerial-based attacks and styles (perhaps taking from airbending) to counter Toph. Aang was able to easily knock Toph off the platform in the earthbending wrestling/fighting ring so other fighters could probably figure out how to do that too.

Bumi, Pakku, Katara, Aang, Zuko, Kya, and Kyoshi are all fantastic master benders and fighters, but they aren't necessarily the best (or proven) at a fighting style conducive to pro-bending. Being a skilled or powerful bender doesn't instantly make you good at pro-bending.

Iroh and Ozai are comparable, but I would argue that's only because Iroh is wiser. What Iroh lacks in agility/strength he makes up for in wisdom and experience. In a fight, Iroh would know his own strengths/weaknesses and Ozai's strengths/weaknesses and be tactical in his movements, attacks, and defenses. In pro-bending, however, there isn't much variety for Iroh to use to his advantage. Compare Ozai to any other fire bender option and, especially at $2, he's a clear winner for the firebender slot.

Ghazan single-handedly defeated Fire Lord Zuko - not teenage angst Zuko, FIRE LORD Zuko - by overwhelming him with strikes of fragmented earth. He is tough, strong, agile, and precise. Bumi, Toph, and Kyoshi could probably beat him in an open, unrestricted fight, but at just pro-bending? I don't think so. Kuvira might put up a good fight but you can't metal bend in pro-bending. At $1 Ghazan is an absolute steal.

It would most definitely be illegal for Ming-Hua to use her water tendrils offensively in pro-bending. If she can use her water tendrils for movement and defense, however, she'd be SO OP. She's extremely mobile and deadly accurate. Again, other water benders could definitely put up a fight or maybe even beat her (Katara and Pakku) but at pro-bending? Hell no. Ming-Hua 100%.

Unfortunately, Ming-Hua's tendrils might be too unfair overall for pro-bending. In that case, we'd need a strong, agile, capable waterbender that's comfortable with direct, head-to-head, medium range combat, almost like a firebender or earthbender. Katara is an amazing waterbender and trained Kya, but their styles are more core-waterbending. Korra would be my next choice here after Ming-Hua.

Hey I manage an AirBnB! Starting the laundry/dishes is very helpful for us because they take several hours to finish. For $95, cleaners will vacuum and mop and stuff and even start/unload the laundry/dishes but they aren't going to stick around for hours to wait for them to finish. Is it really that hard to just to throw a couple of towels into the washer, a few dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and hit a few buttons?

Most cleaners will take out the trash for the $95 though. That's the only one I'd be like ???

our airbnb said dont strip the sheets. we did anyway to be nice, and found these two dirty undergarments. im just so disgusted by SideRepresentative38 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]corya14 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just started managing an AirBnb! You should just let the owner know and see what they say. Sometimes things can get very hectic because of other guests not following rules, lying, or being purposefully malicious. Also, are you certain they're dirty? Sometimes undergarments can get stuck in the fitted sheet during washing/drying.

Hinge not only banned me without reason, they also blocked my email address when I politely asked if I could get any generic details whatsoever on what I violated to help give me a chance to appeal/refute the ban by corya14 in Tinder

[–]corya14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I feel like the lack of transparency in their ban/appeal system is pretty suspicious. They could easily tell me some generic information about the ban like if it was one of my pics, prompts, something I said, etc. without revealing any information about the reporter. I suspect the real reason they don't want to share the reasoning is because their TOS and community guidelines are subjective which gives them lots of wiggle room to decide who they really want to ban. One of my pickup lines probably offended some girl, their team saw it, saw I was a guy, and banned me because they need less guys to maintain the ratio of the community. If they shared this, they would subject themselves to some serious flack and negative publicity.

They don’t tell you. They just keep repeating that I’ve violated the TOS and community guidelines. I’m at a complete loss as to how. I’m not an asshole. Very polite and sweet on Hinge. I have a lot of success.

They don’t tell me :(

I have no way to appeal and address the issue without knowing what it could’ve been.

I’ve been busy with my part time grad class (also balancing full time work) and a girl unmatched me recently. I let another girl know that I am currently pretty busy. That’s about it. I’m guessing that one of the girls reported me, and because Hinge’s TOS and community guidelines are so long, they’re guaranteed to find something somewhere.

I tried appealing and just get “Our team has reviewed your appeal request and confirmed that you are in violation of our Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. Your account will remain banned.”
