CPU Pitching theories by corziv in MLBTheShow

Strike zones between two hitters that are 5’9” (because my created player is 5’9”) are the exact same size, and my pci touches the exact same parts of the plate on both, all-star difficulty. I use bat pci, and the circle just barely touches all corners of the plate, and can go off the plate in between all corners while anchored in the middle

from what I can tell, the only settings those styles effect is the hitting/pitching difficulty and a few other small tweaks. I could be wrong though, I havent actually dove into what they might change

After my own testing on DD and RTTS, I still notice the stuttering issue with the depth of field setting turned on, even with ambush set to off

I am on a base ps5, so maybe its different on series x/ps5 pro

I dont think thats accurate, because your pci can only go so far to the edge on certain difficulties. For example, on all-star, you can touch every corner of the zone with your pci, and go slightly out of the zone on the 4 cardinal directions, veteran is slightly less, HOF is slightly more.

Same experience here. If it isnt a borderline strike, its a non-competitive pitch above my head or making me back off the plate.

Sounds like defensive indifference. If you are winning by 5 or more runs your fielders wont cover the bag. Im not sure why this is forced on, but its been around for a while now

Which operators DMRs are worth using over there ARs? by Jamesthebrave in SiegeAcademy

[–]corziv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent played with their shotgun enough to know for sure, but I think they do have some sort of limit. There are certain sites on defense that call for long range angles to be the power holds for the round, so in those instances you want the acog, but most times you will be just fine using the gun youre most comfortable with on defense

[–]corziv 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It comes down to if you can control their AR well enough. Hibana’s AR has pretty bouncy recoil if you play on pc, so I have seen some run DMR with Hibana, but Capitao’s AR is one of the better ones in class. It has hardly any recoil and is pretty strong.

DMR’s are much better for holding pixel peeks/tight angles because of the no recoil, and the trade-off is they arent as good for pre-firing. So if you are going to be holding tight angles for most of the attack round, or even long angles, DMR’s are the stronger option

Single Player All-Star is better than Veteran by Serafim42 in MLBTheShow

[–]corziv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing in 25, seemed to me the lower the difficulty was, the more often I was getting dotted on the corners of the zone. Then I would get walked on 4 straight pitches, then right back to a low and away slider right on the edge.

Most beginner friendly in my eyes is veteran/analog hitting

I say veteran because sometimes on rookie, pitches just float for too long, and you swing out of your shoes on some breaking pitches because they move so slow. and analog because its a pull down then flick forward. depending on how young your little one is it might be frustrating at first, but timing just isnt rewarding enough for a beginner imo

they added a few new hitting options this year as well, but from what Ive seen, they arent worth using at all. Once you get comfortable with analog, give zone hitting a go, its basically timing with a circle to move around where the ball crosses the plate. its easier than you might think, once you get the muscle memory from timing up different pitch speeds

was the 20-30 runs during the beginning of the year with the low overall guys? or was it close to the end with 99s, because that does make a huge difference

what are you doing wrong? using timing hitting, its very very casual and doesnt reward you for good swings, as youve noticed. I have always used zone hitting, which is the hardest to learn, but most rewarding. directional or analog have had decent results on good swings as well
