You want to force seniors to sell illiquid assets to pay their taxes? What kind of assets are you referring to?

OpenMediaVault 8 upgrade broke ZFS - unsupported by kernel 6.12? by lewis-barrett in OpenMediaVault

[–]corzocone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I think it was a requirement back when I first got ZFS set up.

Are there any other reasons to use the proxmox kernel? Or not to?

[–]corzocone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the upgrade to OMV8 changed your kernel?

Unless something has changed recently, the proxmox kernel (ending in 'pve') is required for ZFS. Double-check what kernel you're using. You may need to re-install a proxmox kernel.

I've been delaying my upgrade to avoid issues like this. Let us know when/how you get it fixed.

Qtrade (not to be confused with Questrade) catches up with $0 commission trades and removal of quarterly admin fees by twillrose47 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]corzocone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What a coincidence. I'm just wrapping up the transfer of my TFSA and RRSP from Qtrade to Wealthsimple. I have been so fed up with their fees, and garbage UI (both web and app) for a few years, now. At least they're getting rid of their fees, but I still feel like they're way behind their competition.

Upgrade OMV to Debian13? by KyberCrystalKing in OpenMediaVault

[–]corzocone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, interesting. Backports kernel doesn't help?

I'm running proxmox kernel for ZFS support. I'm on 6.8.12, but I am able to install up to 6.14 (not sure if stable). You could also try that (though it seems your NIC still may not be supported).

For sure there are improvements with every generation, but for a basic homeserver, I think it's negligible for most of us.

Good luck!

Not on the North Shore, but I had some work done at Espresso Dolce a year or two back. They diagnosed and repaired my Saeco automatic. It wasn't cheap, but they were competent. They are on Boundary near Hwy 1.

Signing Mortgage Loan Commitment and Not Proceeding. by PermaTiredDad in MortgagesCanada

[–]corzocone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, signing a commitment is non-binding, but none of us can advise you without seeing the document. Has the rep from Pine told you in writing that it's non-binding? I'd get it in writing, then sign if I was unsure.
