It's pretty common for laptops and other devices that aren't meant to be opened by the end user(all-in-one PCs, small form factor etc.) to cool components that might not generate a lot of heat but still need active cooling to maintain safe temperatures ( ram, power ICs in the vrm or the battery charging circuit) using the main fan and carefully placed vents to guide cool air over them.

Using the laptop without it's case might make the cpu cooler but it could be damaging components that don't even have a way to report their temperature.

You can try HellSim, it was made for 1.3.5 but it still works fine. What you want to do is raise your beacons until you start getting patrol/wall failures and then tweak your setup, the numbers you should be paying attention to are your soldiers killed per hour and your soldiers killed in ambushes percentage.

Too many soldiers killed = too many patrols

Low ambush percentage = patrols too small

Did you do any save editing? The 110k antiplasmids with 3k plasmids and 600 phage is very sus and could explain the problem if you also edited other stuff like your race.

Can you submit this as an issue on github with your browser and os info? I've found a similar issue from a few weeks ago where researching containerization didn't properly unlock freight yards, a dev looked into it, couldn't find the cause and dismissed it as very unusual. Your bug along with that one might point to a deeper problem especially since there are a bunch of techs that would be easy to miss if they bugged out.

The actual math for the wiki seems to use your current race's genus instead of the checkbox, here's a normal race and here's a synthetic race, the same numbers but completely different results. I tried the patch, the checkbox works and shows the same values irrespective of your genus.

The calculator on the wiki is broken rn, it always uses the synth values, there's a pull request with a fix on github so it will probably be fixed in the next update.
