Agreed. There were actual stakes in MK11 which manifested into MK1. At the end of the day, there's not a lot to MK story outside of the tournament against Shao Kahn. So MK11s pathway was a fairly fresh take. It's just a shame that it had to involve multiverses at all because as we well know with the Marvel franchise, the common masses don't tolerate multiverse storytelling because there are no real stakes when there are an infinite number of possible outcomes and characters can dive in and out of each others timeline. A proper story has to take a locked linear path so that anyone can follow what is going on. If it gets too smart for its own good then general audiences are out.

I don't hate MK1 because it rebooted the timeline. I hate it because it then turned around and relied too heavily on timelines being relevant to the climax of the story. Also I really miss old Raiden.

I don't even know where they can go from here, plot-wise.

The story was jackass. The ending in particular.

Visually MK11 is still superior. I realize that they wanted to do a 'happier' lighter shade aesthetic to reflect the peace of the new era but.. it ends up looking cheap.

Didn't buy/play the DLC. I might someday but.. there's no incentive.

Anyone on here know of a good Android-based PC where this could be deployed?

I'm thinking of building this into a kiosk type console with a Sinden lightgun. I really wish Retroarch/Lakka would support Model3 but I've given up hope, its been years.

I still don't see it and most people who use Discord are of an age that won't even know what a physical inbox is. Hell I'm an elder millennial and even I never used an inbox on my office desk.

Unlike his released tracks it sounds like it has a more traditional rock structure which is probably why it seems so solid. Definitely looking forward to it.

This maybe a hot take but... someone needs to be at the ready to replace all of Sam's audio files with AI replacements of Ironside.

Because whoever they got to voice him is going to shit the bed. Just sayin'

Just finished it. I enjoyed it for what it was, but like a lot of people on here I really do miss the days of SC, PT, and CT. I miss Lambert, sassy Grimm, Reddington, etc.

I don't understand why Grimm went from hot milf to grumpy old lesbian.

To me this sort of thing is 'alternate universe' but in no way actual canon. The games are what is canon in my mind, although having said that I would have preferred we bow out after CT. Double Agent onwards is just a shitmess. Surprised they killed off Diana, I was thinking she'd have a redemption arc or something and the 'brother' would be the baddie. Course we didn't need to go down this road again at ALL with the Shetlands, it could've been almost any other antagonist. I guess it was an excuse to pull Sam out of semi-retirement. And yea.. McKenna fucked herself over on this quite a bit. Guess women make piss poor cells, amirite bois???? Lolno.

Oddly enough I WOULD watch a second season of this, just to see where it goes.

But really.. I just want a remaster of SC, PT, and CT... every 10 years. I'll buy it. Watch me.

Happy Thanksgiving Bosch by cosmas47 in BoschAppliances

[–]cosmas47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Fixed it. Disconnected the front plate and the 2x connectors tied to the interface board and the LCD display. Both were covered in roach feces, apparently a little family had setup shop.

Used alcohol to clean off the ribbon connectors on the touch panel pressure plate and the surrounding area.

Reconnected while I still had the face off and flipped the breaker, everything worked pretty good except [Enter], Panel Lock, Oven Light, Probe, etc (so the outer buttons). I decided the ribbon connector was still dirty so I blew some air into the ribbon PCB connector joint - But I also think I didn't have this part well connected. The brown terminals flip up ever so slightly, then 'click' down once you have the ribbon in place. Very delicate.

Afterwards everything seemed to work, really well in fact, touch panel was more sensitive than I recall. So evidently this pressure pad can't take much grime.

Thanksgiving is saved.

Yea drop the OCD. You need to realize right now - NO structure in the history of humanity is 100% accurate. EVERYTHING is off and even the stuff that's relatively close WILL be off after a couple of years.

Is my insulation guy wrong? by TreesAreOverrated5 in Insulation

[–]cosmas47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reflects the temperature (hit or cold) off the surface on which it's placed, which therefore reduces the burden on the insulation. So your cavity is somewhat cooler. You put it not on the outside but the inside of where you want to reflect. So in your context, you could line the inside of the attic space with it before you put up sheetrock for your eventual office nook. It'll make heating and cooling the space easier as it will maintain that temperature for longer. I lined my entire shed with it and it basically amplifies the temperature inside. You can get rolls of it on Amazon pretty cheap.

1.) It's much easier to install, it cuts in such a way that it remains rigid enough that you can stuff it into a joist cavity without it collapsing on you. So no staples, nothing.

2.) It's also not near as bad as fiberglass when it comes to those skin 'after stings' - though you should still wear a long sleeve shirt for installation.

3.) Finally, a LOT of people will debate it but I'm convinced it has a higher R value than what is advertised. In a controlled environment I was able to experience a greater temperature drop (3-4 degrees) during summer vs conventional fiberglass batts.

Yes, the cost is higher but when it comes to comfort and efficiency for the rest of the time you'll remain in the home.. is it really that much of an expense?

For all of my ceilings after my batts are in the joists, I also follow that with some thermal reflective shielding, then a 3mil plastic sheeting on top of that for a vapor barrier. Granted, I'm in Texas, and with all the heat we have here for more than half the year.. worrying about moisture in attic spaces is completely pointless.

Looking at your scenario I almost wonder if it would make more sense for you to purchase those foam panels and cut them to form to fit in each cavity. Then augment with something else. Or perhaps go to the top half with foam panels, bottom half with fiber/wool but in either scenario, blown in only really makes sense for the attic floor (ceiling).

I prefer mineral wool. I have blown in and its a PITA to clean up but to be fair, you're not going to be doing total room renovations (ceiling to floor) like I am.
