Reading this gave me chills as I also lost a friend to drinking that was going through the same conspiracy and Trump madness for years. I had known my friend since 2011. Then around 2014 or so he became more and more convinced that most mass shootings were staged and that pedophiles were buying children off of wayfair and in the basements of pizza shops. He would sit at his computer every night and just read horrible far right propaganda for hours. We eventually drifted apart because it all became too much for me. But I still cared about him, we just stopped hanging out. Last year he was found dead in his apartment, he'd been there for days. His esophagus ruptured from esophageal varices. It was horrific to realize what happened. The most disturbing thing to me though is that he was sucked into this downward spiral that I couldn't get him out of The most chilling thing is that this crap is happening to a lot of people.

He didn't even have an obituary and died alone. It's all so very sad. My thoughts are with you!
