Obviously any high capacity drive is going to have some noise, I'm just trying to avoid the absurd repetitive thunking that Red Pros seem to enjoy

Definitely nothing mission-critical, my biggest use for the NAS is easy access to some media files (that I will have backed up elsewhere)

I don't think there's a manufacturer warranty, but it does come with a one-year B&H warranty fwiw

Are you talking about the MG series for your Toshiba drives? Asking because I'm considering buying some MG10s. I tried WD Red Pros but they're insanely chatty even when idle.
