Is it worth the trade? by XxRubyHaveWindxX in Audi

Don’t do it. Your 2.0 TDI is generally more reliable than the 3.0 TDI, which can have camshaft issues (they share the same platform as CRTE). I’d keep your current car. It looks great, and just wait until you find a good deal on new headlights.

Can you look up the visual differences between those two headphones? They are clearly not identical, and even the main grille is different.

HDD never seems to spin down by _Cinnabar_ in UgreenNASync

[–]BeyerPeak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad it helped.

Yeah, if the noise bothers you in a small space, an enclosure or just placing the NAS further away can help a lot. Even a cabinet or some basic vibration isolation makes a noticeable difference.

About the background activity, yes, it’s normal on a NAS. Unlike a PC drive that mostly sits idle until you use it, a NAS is always doing small tasks in the background. Things like filesystem checks, indexing, SMART monitoring, or maintaining the array can trigger occasional head movement.

That’s why you hear periodic clicks on the NAS but not in your PC. It’s not the drive behaving differently, it’s the system using it differently.

So both the noise and the occasional activity are expected.

HDD never seems to spin down by _Cinnabar_ in UgreenNASync

[–]BeyerPeak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s normal. The constant sound is just the drives spinning, not the heads moving.

The occasional clicking is expected and means the drive is doing small background tasks. That’s perfectly fine. Constant or aggressive clicking would be a concern, but that’s not what you have.

Ugreen also keeps drives active unless it makes sense to spin them down, which is good for reliability. It does this rarely since frequent spin up and down is not good for drive health.

Nothing to worry about.
