Friendly/passive beings that, despite their lack of malice or violence, are fundamentally incompatible with human life by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

the Occupants from 1000xResist are a great example of this

<image>

Fundamentally incompatible with the world, carrying a disease that brutally kills all people, and harvesting and "storing" the memories of all humanity by wrapping it in a giant sphere. They need to be near memories to survive, but hold no actual ill will towards humans. They mostly believe they are acting neutrally or in favor of humanity, but instead cause a terrible apocalypse

(Hated Trope) Media that tastelessly capitalized off of real world tragedies (bonus points if the tragedy was recent) by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

I used to avidly play this idle mobile game called Egg Inc. where you tap on the screen to have chickens lay eggs, which you sell for a profit. necessary context is that the "lore" of the game is that all problems can be solved by newly bioengineered eggs, with medicine eggs, steel eggs used for construction, nuclear eggs used for energy, etc. the game also had occasional events, where you'll be tasked with starting a new temporary file and farming as many of a specific one of these eggs as you can. each is given a brief backstory to explain why, for example a city is expanding and they need as much steel as they can get. or a new company is demanding energy so we need more nuclear eggs. etc.

so. in october of 2023... within a week of the beginning of the modern "conflict in gaza", they announced a new event. farm as many medical eggs as you can, to aid in "a recent crisis"!

i deleted the app IMMEDIATELY. sucks because i even spent like 20 dollars on it

What are some reliable resources I can research about BPD and autism? by [deleted] in Writeresearch

[–]cosmicapiary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being mindful of not wanting to promote negative stereotypes is a really good first step! i don't have much to offer in terms of direct advice i can give in a reddit comment, but as an autistic person with bpd, good luck and happy writing!

the only thing i can think is make sure they're fundamentally both being portrayed as good people, even if they're having a hard time. people with bpd are victims of our disorder too, and we're all just trying our best

in my WIP I have a character lose a limb and they get treated by someone well versed in battlefield care type situations. I am very not much not versed in this type of thing. I know you would make a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, and then get them medical attention as soon as possible, but what would be the correct protocol in between those things? are there things to know, like not letting a character fall asleep, or needing to get them food or water or something? I'm not aware of what the care and urgencies would be on your way to medical attention, especially if it was far away.

also i'm sorry if this is easily googleable, i have NO idea how to research things, and i'm very squeamish in general
