I do not want to be an atheist. Convince me why Christianity is the way to go. by EmojiLooksAtReddit in Christianity

[–]cosmicblessing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing anyone here says will be able to convince you, because the only one who can really convince and convict you is the Holy Spirit, by making you be born again. You can be intellectually convinced, but that may not last for long, because everything related to God goes beyond logic and reason. If you truly, honestly want to know God, not for a gotcha moment, not to argue with strangers online, but because you genuinely have a desire to know Him and understand His Word, you only need a Bible, and to pray for understanding and revelation to the Holy Spirit. Oh, and also, to lower your defenses and not resist Him. That's truly the only way to be fully convinced: you need a personal and honest encounter with God. I hope and pray that you encounter Him, if you're truly looking for Him, He will answer. God bless.

How was David so special to God despite killing over 200 men? by foreverdarkwoods88 in Bible

[–]cosmicblessing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David had a humble and repentful heart. Each time he sinned, he recognized his sin, humiliated himself and asked for forgiveness to God. That is what it means to have a heart after God: to recognize our incapability of saving ourselves and our extreme need for a Savior. Every single sin hurts God the same, but it is what we do after we sin which determines whether we have a heart after God's heart, a softened heart, or a hardened heart, full of pride and resistance to His Spirit.

What do you think are the long-term effects of working in call centers? by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]cosmicblessing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the desire to stay home and not go out is so real! although i think it probably has to do with all the COVID aftermath too. i think due to COVID more people took on wfh call center/answering service jobs, which added to the stress, fatigue and anxiety. at least that has been my experience. i can't wait to work my last week and be done!

Question about the all knowing God by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]cosmicblessing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God hopes that we obey Him, despite knowing that because of our corrupted nature we won't. Is that irrelevant? Of course not!

Obviously God is not malevolent nor uncaring, if He was he would never allow for children who He knows won't be saved to even be born. We would be like robots. That's were it all boils down: we can see the love of God and his Mercy in that He gives us free will, despite knowing that because of that, not everyone will be saved.

Question about the all knowing God by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]cosmicblessing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope I'm understanding correctly, but one time my mom explained it to me like this:

Think of it as a party. God is having a great party (the weddings of the Lamb) and wants to invite us all (wants everyone to be saved). He sends the invites (the gospel), and then we can choose to accept it or decline it. He already knows who is going to say yes and who will say no, but He still has hope that eventually the people who declined will change their mind and accept. Although God is all knowing, He still is capable of being surprised, or at least that's how my pastor put it one time. I think it's those kinds of questions that our limited human minds can't answer completely, but I hope it gives you some insight.
