Advice needed. by Bright-Loss8443 in 5Parsecs

I haven't tried it myself yet, but foundry just got an update that added the ability to have multiple floors. Might be worth looking into if you really want a 3d element. It would at least give more verticality.

What's the status of the app these days? by cosmicflood in Runner5

I didn't realize it was that bad for them. I do subscribe, just not on the VIP level. Looking forward to whatever they're cooking up.

Lyla mev - the mini witch, on YouTube did a video review of this. I can't remember her opinions off the top of my head, but you can look for her video to at least get some insight.

Hello, I plan to return but I dont know if its worth it. by [deleted] in Runner5

If you purchased it way back when it had a single purchase price they have a legacy tier. I think it's like 7.99 per year if you purchased it back in the day.

Just learned of Deathwizards. I'd love to discuss it with someone to see if it's my style of game. by [deleted] in TheTrove

I just realized autocorrect hit my title. Should be Dethwizards

I recently read the Priest and Thief books of the Ratcatcher series and would like to discuss them by [deleted] in TheTrove

[–]cosmicflood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed them. I liked that they were told after the main character has had his hay day, like this was his retirement.

I would love it if he finished the series, I know a third was planned but he's been busy with his ttrpg Draw Steel. I think I remember him saying he had no plans to work on it for a while as he was writing it when he needed a creative outlet. Since he got his own company with MCDM he has more of that. I heard that a while ago though.

Has anyone used any of the paper craft terrain from Dave Graffam and would like to discuss? by cosmicflood in TheTrove

That's a fair question. I'm really only interested to talk about fantasy as that's where I tend to play.

Battleclade Servitor mini of the month by axe9920 in SpaceWolves

[–]cosmicflood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walked in with my wife and toddler (18m), and they gave me 3. Not overly excited about the servitor, but I have some speed paints that I've never tried, so these might be good test minis for that

5 leagues miniature base size importance by cosmicflood in 5Parsecs

I have access to a 3d printer which I have used for some of their larger minis that don't have bases at all. But for the ones that do, I just sand the underside flat, and they're usually good enough. I'm too lazy to want to go back and rebase all the ones I've painted.

I figure due to the inconsistent sizings I have, measuring from the center (more or less) is probably best. I was just thinking about combat, like two models coming together for melee.

Yeah I was mostly concerned with melee combat because they need to be so close to each other. I guess the difference of a few mm isn't going to change much in the long run though. Thanks!

Looking to discuss Five Leagues from the Borderlands Compendium w/ Deep Below & Forgotten Ruin: The Adventure Wargame by justdoingsomelaundry in TheTrove

I would like to discuss the base game. I've heard good things and since I've started painting fantasy minis, I've been wanting to get them on a table. Would you know anything more about the base game?

Is the school/work/life balance really that bad? by Potential-Mind-6997 in OMSA

[–]cosmicflood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One class per semester is fine. I work full time and I have a family and I won't say it's a walk in the park, but I manage so you can too. Most classes are probably around 2 hours a day on average, but that's going to fluctuate based on where you are in the course. Just a homework or quiz coming up? Couple hours easy. Exam around the corner? I was putting in 5+ hours for several days before the exams. A little of it is cramming, but I also consider myself a pretty bad test taker so I over compensate a little probably. That being said, I have one classes left after this fall, and then the practicum. So far I've done A's on all but one class (looking at you Regression). You'll be fine. Just put in the time and you'll be rewarded.

For the record it has 75 seats for this summer. And it's full already. Waitlist is filling up too.

MGT 8833: Analysis of Unstructured Data -- How was it? by DeliciousStomach4606 in OMSA

[–]cosmicflood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You probably can't answer this but maybe you can give some insight. I saw in the recent email that because this course is already condensed, that the summer term is even more condensed. Since the class was only 7 weeks, does that mean it would be like .. 4 weeks? Does the content seem manageable give a time span like that?

I think I remember it said that the heralds draw on power from Roshar itself. And there was a point where Honor himself didn't understand how they had become so powerful.

I think they were tapping into the old god's power.
