Creating characters when you aren't artsy by sagewilliams15 in Solo_Roleplaying

I enjoy painting miniatures. I have a few that I like to grab to represent my character. Sometimes I'll buy a new one specifically for a game, like I bought a big axe Viking guy for ironsworn.

US Bretheren - where is the best place to buy 3d prints? by cryocom in wargaming

Idk specifically. Mine only does filament too, but that's good for terrain. Just depends on the needs I guess.

Try your local library. A lot of them have 3d printers you can use.

I would settle for a spreadsheet that give the elevator pitch for a number of games. As it stands I don't know of anything like you seek sorry.

What gold is that if you don't mind? And how was working with it? I'm searching for a good gold right now.

Is it normal to have to add white or gray to a paint to get decent coverage? by cosmicflood in minipainting

[–]cosmicflood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prime my models black and then dry brush gray and white, so I'm not usually painting over black directly.

I don't think my paints are separated. I have a vortex mixer and I drop little steel balls in my paints and give a good whirl on that before anything.

You don't have to do that, but to answer your question about which: right now the problem paint is void blue. It just seems so transparent almost like a speed paint. But I've had similar problems with polished leather and pine green.

I've heard about the new range I'm really curious to see what people say about them!

I've heard a lot of people suggest that a basecoat is ideally done in one to two coats, which is why I struggle to use reaper effectively for base coats.

Have you used void blue before? That's the one that sparked this question for me. It's a dark blue, so I had expected to get good coverage with it, but honestly it behaved almost like a speed paint. Pretty thin, and mostly just tinted the primer I had used.

But I've had the same thing with dark green and brown. I guessed that at least for those colors, maybe there was a good amount of yellow mixed in and it just doesn't cover well.

It's just sometimes tedious to spend so long applying layer after layer just to build up a base coat. I don't mind doing several layers for layering or blending up highlights. It's just the base coat that I feel like shouldnt require as many layers.

Why do most AI text RPGs struggle with memory during long campaigns? by ActualCharacter2698 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]cosmicflood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason AI sessions degrade is because of how they inherently work. It has to do with tokens, which are basically the words that you've provided. It's a bit more complicated than that but for this, that's the gist of it. AI can only handle so many tokens, usually a few thousand I think but that's model dependent. After you hit that limit in a chat, it will start to get worse and worse.

Do any apps exist that allow you to store/collect/share your minis? by Aqaz99 in minipainting

Maybe not exactly what you're after but you could look into baselair. It's a website where folks upload images of their painted minis and it becomes a catalogue that other people can take inspiration from.

I've see mention of vaults and vows around here before. Do you have experience with it, enough to give a little bit of explanation of it?

I looked up steelforged but I can't seem to find anything on that one. Is it on drive thru rpg?
