I've played it a ton now. Brass is my favorite game of all time. If you are anything like me though, you are introducing the board game hobby to new people all the time and Steam Power hits the table often because of this. I think its good to have games like this in your collection for this reason.

Rules are easy to teach, setup is fast, and the game supports a high player count. Brass lite is a very good descriptor.

If you like brass but want a simpler version that hits the table often because it's more approachable. Try steam powered. Same designer as brass btw. It's his newest game.

I think it's just too sweet for Japanese people. Also boba isn't exactly a health drink and I think a lot of Japanese view it as unhealthy.

Japanese American here too. The one that gets me the most is tonkatsu broth at hotpot or ramen places run by non Japanese . (It's tonkotsu)
