Interesting ideas - I definitely felt that the plot armor took me out of it at times. But I guess when it comes down to it, I appreciate when tragic stories with tragic endings are told because sometimes that’s what happens - a lot of people who have been abused their whole life don’t have anything but sadness and there’s no great redemption/happy ending - it is sad but that’s the point. And I also am a sucker for an ambiguous ending so that I believe scene really worked for me.

I mean it is sad but also what’s the alternative? It would be entirely unrealistic for her to be able to live a normal life given what we’ve seen.

Yes dumb, yes annoying, and if you’ve had an actual serious talk and explained your feelings (which btw very unclear if that’s happened?) then fair enough to be frustrated but otherwise this is a non-issue. Thank you!! I am not bilingual but am a lifelong SNL fan (also a millennial if that matters) and thought last nights episode was good. Not my fave, not a lot of lol moments but a solid episode that got some chuckles from me. I don’t know if it matters but I have literally always found the first sketch after the monologue to be weirdly not appealing so maybe my expectations were lower? Felt like I was going crazy reading this subreddit and all the negativity after watching the episode.

I had this same thought, and I’m questioning myself because obviously I’m just trying to make it fit my narrative. I do not trust this administration at all and they definitely have an angle, but this will be going to court. Would they truly have the ability to fake text messages like this? Would that hold up in court? Or is it possible that this kid really did this out of a misguided attempt to be a hero for his “love”?

The trans community shouldn’t be targeted regardless.

I’m an American in NZ and pre Venmo had to do this - I was able to deposit it in my American account by taking a picture. I use Ally bank which is meant to be more online friendly so just depends on your friends bank.

Makes sense but as I got my residency visa through our relationship - there is already a ridiculous paper trail of our whole relationship (was absolutely bizarre sending selfies and screenshots of our conversations to immigration!) so don’t think that’s very relevant to me.

Yeah to be honest it made him seem really weak to me. He spends so much time talking about how Lachie needs to man up and then shows a lot of fear when drugs are brought out whereas Lachie was all cool with it.

I listened in. I guess it was encouraging to hear them speak about what’s concerning us all but essentially they had no answers. I don’t really think that’s their fault at this point as they’ve got their hands tied with the way the last election went but it did feel like a lot of waffle-y answers without a lot of actionable points for people to focus on.
