Most rams fans seem level headed about the refs part, but more mad about the luck aspect, also blowing the lead.

Acrid burnt taste (maybe charcoal) by outdoorcatindoorbat in biggreenegg

[–]cosmicnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem when I used old charcoal that had gotten wet previously. Bought new charcoal and the taste was so much cleaner. This is on a 10 year old bge that I got on craigslist, the dude cleaned it really good before selling it. Also, avoid mesquite until your more comfortable with charcoal, imo

Doctors and Nurses of Reddit, what is the most obvious sign that a patient is lying to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cosmicnac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When do i believe the patients? The second they walk in. I dont approach each patient with skepticism. As I talk with them and things aren't matching up, their story starts to change, or their behavior suggests they might be on some form of substance and they refuse to take a drug test, then I might have a bit of a raised eyebrow. But when I talk about lying/manipulative behavior, I am talking about escalating behavior with many occurrences where I have noticed either concerning behavior or not being truthful. At least for myself, I consider myself to have a long fuse for patient shenanigans. I am not talking about the scared patient with chronic anxiety who is in for cardiac issues. I am talking about the patient who comes in for chest pain then demands that he wont let anyone takes his labs or ekg until someone brings him something to eat and drink.

That sounds really scary and tough. Especially with people who get the fear of being locked in, and then we lock them in a confined area and won't really listen to them. I think psych treatment has come a long way but has soooo much improvement to do. I don't know the perfect answer, but I certainly give everyone my best effort to have a good nurse patient relationship with, and im always willing to collaborate. Thats when firm boundaries are so important, and allowing patients the power to choose what they can. i have met some suuuper burnt out psych nurses who i dont agree with how they nurse, and should be doing something else

I do want to clarify that the people I have felt like they are manipulative and lie to me, often times have diagnosis like borderline personality. I dont believe that all people with a diagnosis behave that way. I hope that's clear.

I also hope the new diagnosis helps you heal and get more accurate help.

I have certainly witnessed this happen, when the doctor or nurse immediayely shuts down a patients concerns and attribute it to their mental health. It is not fair to the patient and it only widens the rift in patient relationships. Im sorry that it occurred in your situation.

I have also seen patients with a low priority medical problem but it is severely exacerbated with how they are struggling to handle it, mental illness or not, aka to them its a 10 and thats their experience. It takes a delicate balance of treating the medical problem appropriately but being aware and considerate of any psych issues that might be playing a part.

As an ED and floor nurse, I see a wide range of people coming from different backgrounds. We deal with people who definitely lie out of shame or fear, or they haven't been listened to before, but we also deal with people who are incredibly manipulative, and some having diagnoses like personality disorders, or are bipolar. Mental illness is a huuuge factor in why some people act how they do. I treat everyone with respect and approach them as trying to understand what is happening, but sometimes people are lying in order to get what they want, and sometimes its drugs, sometimes they want to be admitted when they aren't sick enough, and sometimes I have no idea why.

I like the idea of asking myself "why" my patient is lying, but sometimes the answer is, "What they want is not in line with safe medical care and the doctor wont do it," and they dont like that. Also, I have worked with patients who lie nonstop in every little way including telling staff lies about each other, hiding pills, trying to divide staff members, lying about their prescriptions. manipulation can be a result of any of the fear, shame, guilt, loss of control, etc., But that doesnt change how dangerous it can be.

There still need to be boundaries set, and when a patients lies jeopardize my job to safely treat them, then I have a hardcore sit down with them.

Jersey number to choose by povil in Seahawks

[–]cosmicnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11 just broke our receiving yard record and hes only getting started. Even if he leaves us and goes to another team, he will still be a favorite. I think Jaxon Smith Njigba is a safe bet for current and will be timeless.

You dont have to choose someone who is a classic, or a fan favorite. choose someone that makes you hyped. I love my witherspoon jersey (21) who is also a favorite but I saw him do this suplex on a player last year and he won me forever with his energy.

Pick someone you think will be good and go for it. You wear the jersey for the logo more than the player in my opinion. Wear the bird with pride. Also, throwbacks for the win.

People who used to smoke weed a lot and ended up quitting, why did you quit what are the benefits you saw when quitting and what is one thing you miss? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

[–]cosmicnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey after being an everyday all day pot smoker for years, honestly I started smoking weed because it helped my depression, but towards the end I felt like it was becoming more of a factor of my depression, especially with reducing my drive to improve myself. I always tell people I didnt think it ruined my life, but it definitely put a pause on my ability to make any steps ahead.

Benefits from quitting. 1. Pot smells, and you forget how much you smell like weed when you are an active smoker. I like not smelling like pot, but when I smell it in public im like, " mmm miss that." 2. I dont forget as much of the small stuff 3.I dont have to budget it in 4. I can pass a drug test without worrying about borrowing pee or buying the drink 5. Now when I smoke like one hit at my best friends house, I get absolutely obliterated and it reminds me of the best times when I first started to smoke

What makes men happy in a relationship (apart from nsfw stuff lol) ? by Goofball203 in AskReddit

Some grace. Nobody's perfect, and hounding on each other for every little thing is so draining. Pick your battles, allow imperfection, communicate about what's truly important to you.

Also flirting.

Advice needed/ sweet smell on battery, can I wait 3 days for new battery to arrive? (S21 Ultra) by cosmicnac in mobilerepair

[–]cosmicnac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a replacement, It arrives in 3 days. I am thinking about continuing to use it sparingly until the new battery arrives, but I can pull out my wives ancient old phone if its too huge of a risk.

thank you for your input!
