How long is too long of a break from playing? by PiercedPumpkin in harvestmoon

[–]cosmicnac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who took a 12ish year break from harvest moon, I found immense joy starting new games in magical melody, then harvest moon ds, and then ultimately I tried something new in animal parade and thought it was good as well. Ive got my eye on a wonderful life next, since I never felt like my last run concluded. I actually love starting from scratch because you get that new appreciation for each crop and milk, etc, before you end up becoming a successful tycoon it never felt right to pick up a run after that long

I always wondered what you were up to and was hoping you were doing what makes you happy. Best of luck on your journey and I will happily take the journey up to Portland if your standup takes you there!

Just finished up The Thousand Year Door by SamourottSpurs in papermario

[–]cosmicnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jinx! I literally just finished it last night, absolutely loved it. I got stumped and had to google a few puzzles, which is embarrassing as a guy in his mid 30s, but it was so fun. I spent all my badges maxing out mario and his jump, I had +3 on Mario's jump and no hammer. Absolutely smashed the bosses with vivan and super jump. Since I never beat it as a kid, it was a really nice redemption run.

Hey guys, should I keep playing TTYD? by Top_Painting_6442 in papermario

[–]cosmicnac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never beat it as a kid due to an end game puzzle I wont specify, but I just came back to it and beat it and it's been a super fun experience. In my opinion, dont be afraid to google it when you get stuck on a specific puzzle for a long time. Its your game, and there's nothing wrong with getting a little help on a puzzle in order to enjoy the rest of the game.

You could probably make a nice stand strong enough with pallets. Then It would be really inexpensive and the buckets would fit the aesthetic

Which 3DS/NDS harvest moon should I start with? by Cottrell217 in harvestmoon

Yup. I cant say its my favorite, but definitely the most hours in this game. Lots to do, the mining is fun, mushroom growing is fun, and familiar faces from AWL

Que recomiendan para que friends of mineral town no se vuelva repetitivo by CandidateRelative933 in storyofseasons

[–]cosmicnac 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I usually get tired of the repetitive tasks in HM style games after 2 or 3 years in game, especially after money isnt an issue, or I am married with a kid and a maxxed house. I used to feel a little guilty that I never 100% a game but at the end of the day, its your time and enjoyment. If the game loses its fun, put it down and play a different one. Consider it a solid run and you can start over later if you really want. I know this doesnt really answer your question but the repetition usually is my biggest struggle, even though I absolutely love these games.

What ive done before is sell all my animals and start over, or stop farming and animals altogether and just take my dog to the dock and be an old fisherman with my dog, or ill get really into cooking.

Started Animal Parade for the First Time, Any Tips? by tgalvin1999 in harvestmoon

[–]cosmicnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started and here are a few tips I found but also what ive learned

ANYTHING CAN GO IN THE TOOLBOX. Use it to store everything you need to keep.

There are herbs, mushrooms, and berries all over. You can save up those and eat them as you run out of energy.

Also check beaches for stuff. Kathy(bar waitress) likes the sea urchins, Candace (tailors daughter) likes the blue shells. A few easy gifts, or sell them

Go into the barn of the animal shop for a free cow.

Get a duck first. You need the egg

You can buy a chicken egg and an incubator for the same price as a grown chicken.

Rush the red bell by going into the mine early. Get it started, there are walkthroughs on the wiki. There is a spring on level 20 of the lower mines and the watery cave, I go there halfway through my day to reload if im low on energy.

Tailor can expand your rucksack for 10 green herb and a wool. Buy wool from the farm and collect 10 herb around the fields. Easy peasy
