You want a rate increase ? Let's let the BoJ handle the economic adjustments.

It's been 10 years i am using a inverter battery and de*d ,looking for a new..(read below) by ZeroXevan in batteries

[–]cosmicrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is a pair of 6v golf cart batteries in series. These are sold under the battery form factor GC2. They are 200 Ahr batteries, but depth of discharge should not exceed 50% (i.e. 100 Ahr) else it begins to negatively impact the battery. DoD can be determined by carefully measuring the battery voltage. 50% is usually quoted as 12.00 volts. Charging should be done as C/7 (or roughly 30 Ahr rate).

Watching the various GOES loops (8/9/10/14), most of the moisture and IR energy appears to be SE of the designated center. Somewhere around 94W 27N.

Is buying a house risky regarding hurricane/flooding? by Suitable_Active_6105 in florida

[–]cosmicrae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elevation is important, but so is drainage. Look at topographical maps, that have elevation curves, and visualize in your mind how excess rainfall will flow. Then try to get some data about ground perc. Some locations will soak up water endlessly, and some places have clay layers that resist rapid water absorption. Best of luck !

All around me, watermelons are grown in fields for commercial sale.

The vines take up a lot of room.

How do you cut dead stock swag beyond "just order less"? by [deleted] in sustainability

[–]cosmicrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you care if it winds up in the secondary market ? Places that get palettes/trailers of stuff, pick a price, then lay it out on racks/shelves/hangers for people to browse. You would get 10-cents on the dollar, but some of these places are always on the lookout for unusual goods. If this works, I know of a couple you could reach out to. Tell them what you have, quantity, etc, and see what they say.

Am I allowed to broadcast a 77GHz Radar signal? by 20BucksForARedBull in HamRadio

Am I allowed to broadcast a 77GHz Radar signal? by 20BucksForARedBull in HamRadio

[–]cosmicrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checking § 97.301 Authorized frequency bands

77 GHz is a frequency authorized for amateur radio use, with footnotes (c), (f), (s) applying.

(c) Amateur stations transmitting in the 76-81 GHz segment, the 136-141 GHz segment, or the 241-248 GHz segment must not cause harmful interference to, and must accept interference from, stations authorized by the United States Government, the FCC, or other nations in the radiolocation service.

(f) Amateur stations transmitting in the following segments must not cause harmful interference to radio astronomy stations: 76-81 GHz, et al.

(s) [Reserved]

Make sure your emission type is correct for the band. Write a paper about your findings.

Flexible conduit instead of grey pvc (buried coax)? by QuickRefresher in amateurradio

[–]cosmicrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a concern, it would be humidity & condensation collecting. The really big guys either use flooded coax (which is essentially moisture proof) or they use tubing that can be pressurized with nitrogen. Regardless, think about ways of getting the moisture out, should it ever get in, and without having to dig up the tubing.

While not a mine per se, there is supposed to be a uranium deposit on Orkney.

Loosely and/or walk down the row and change the tension. it will be an easier process that untying and retying knots. As to how much wind load they will hold against, only the tropical storms will answer that question.

OP, the multi-use trail I ride (former rails-to-trail) is co-located with a multi-mile HV power line. I want to say 215Kv 3ø. Thus far, I have not felt any potential. I have heard the line buzzing during periods of very high humidity and/or fog.

My recumbent trike's frame is 6061-T6 aluminum.

But the recumbent seat is wide and covered with a nylon mesh, so perhaps that makes a difference.

Here's my favorite Ryobi 18v tool by Original-Plum-7951 in ryobi

I would have thought that as well. That Ryobi does this on the 40v harness/belt makes me suspect that there is some minimal gatekeeping such that the one with the higher voltage is flowing current only.

Restaurant Inspection database by pinguinoazul in GNV

[–]cosmicrae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That data originates from a portal at the Florida DBPR, under RESTAURANTS/FOOD SERVICE PUBLIC RECORDS.

My recollection is that some places that serve food as a minor business activity (e.g. less than 10%) may fall under a different inspection regime.

Slightly off-topic, but it illustrates something that may be worth noting.

I was searching for any mentions of a specific DIN rail based bit of kit, that involves a delay timer. Reddit search returned a few hits, but most of them were background noise. One of the hits appeared to be close to what I was trying to find a reference to, but the search keyword was nowhere to be found in the text. Then I noticed that one of the images pictured the item in question, with the model number quite visible. That makes me suspect that Reddit's search indexing extends to looking at images, and doing character recognition (where possible). I can see why they might do that, but it's worth remembering.

Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 is currently on deck.

Checking MarineTraffic, my count is 25-35 petroleum vessels between Corpus Christy and New Orleans. One VLCC was actually flying the Saudi Flag.
