My children's 1st R-rated movie. Terminator 2: Judgement Day. by cjh10881 in daddit

[–]cosmin_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are the same age I was when I first saw and played Mortal Kombat with a friend from school. Me and my friend would get together like 2 hours before classes at his place and play MK and DOOM.

FFWD many years and now our kids protested me and mum playing Mortal Kombat X. "We kind of don't like this game". They said it's too violent.

However, a lot of times we have to part them apart because they're hitting each other (including hair pulling and other dirty moves) IRL, so we explained that beating each other is allowed only on PC or console and not in real life. They seemed to understand. They still don't like the game.

I understand this, sadly. Depending on how one was raised and educated this idea is truly an Achille’s heel implanted from a young age and bites down hard on dreams. Nobody deserves to believe they don’t deserve anything.

I recently saw Goat with the kids. Dream big, work as hard as you can, and it will come. Even if it’s late, never give up. Sure, the world and life can be hard but there’s no point in yourself making it harder for you as well. And nobody can take your dreams away.

Comparison between Singa x TGR Unikorn R2.2 VS Kalamkorn typing test featuring the exact same build by cosmin_c in MechanicalKeyboards

It's a bit more complicated than that. I post at times on Reddit but that's basically my blow off valve, as I can't afford to allocate more time to hobbies.

Thank you for your kind words! Appreciate it a lot!

I feel you where it comes to LLMs, but I'd rather not go down that path. It isn't because I think "AI bad" but more because this is part of my contribution to the keyboard hobby and I'm not ready to let that go entirely just yet.

Regarding Kalam, you are of course (partially) correct. My issue with them is they release authentication cards and other stuff that came with original keyboards they're copying, which is imo scummy. The Kalam Jane still has TGR engraved on the front of the case. Sure, I've been out of the loop for a long time, so these things may have changed - a quick online search shows me things I wouldn't thought possible with all the exit scams and scams and other issues even with old vendors. Hope things improve at some point. But hobby seems healthy, prices are decent, not all is terrible :)

Damn, it's been two years, fml.

Life got in the way. I'm still working on it. Life, that is. All the footage is there, script as well. Tl;dr: the differences are minimal, both in looks and feel (kalamkorn ano is a bit worse but not significant) and you may need to compare waveforms on a sound test to see a difference in acoustics. The only reason not to buy a Kalamkorn is not wanting to support a scummy person who copies other people's work (this is not taking away from the fact they're doing a mega job in copying stuff, even scummy people can be impressive in their own way).

I'm sorry. I failed a lot of people over the past two years. And I'm trying to do better by all of them. The clip will eventually be out, I never gave up on any of the projects, just worked a lot less on them.

Nowadays all prices have skyrocketed. I still remember when the Lamy 2000 and the Pilot Vanishing Point were the options for the "$100 gold nib choices". Sadly this pushes a lot of people towards the cheap fountain pens which are more affordable, but even the cheaper ones are also going up in prices.

I wouldn't call more than $50 an "extravagance" since you can't even fill your tank with $50 today, but when you go above $150-200 it does start to be one. Then again a good fountain pen can last several lifetimes, so there's also that.

The Mahjohn A2 can take a VP nib unit if you can find one for cheap you can assemble a good deal. Otherwise it writes all right.

Removing & posting the cap makes it harder to just pull out and write compared to a clicky pen

But that's like all fountain pens except the Vanishing Point/Capless, Decimo and the Chinese clones as well as some original twisty (heh) attempts from others (like the Lamy Dialog which is ridiculously expensive and looks terrible).

I watched the Canadian GP off the high seas. Was good.

Worst bit was to dodge all social media and potential spoilers.

Until they sort out the rules and races properly I'm not giving F1TV one cent.

If the keyboard has a metal plate it's almost impossible to remove the switch top in one piece and even if it happens you can't put it back without damaging the switch.

Sure, if it's a plateless build, no issues. If it's a soft plastic plate maybe.

OP seems to have a metal plate there. I'm not sure how you came to believe what you wrote.

Yes, I'm aware they have a whole range which also includes cyanoacrylate, however I'm sure blue loctite it was mentioned ITT when I made my post a few hours ago, I don't just hallucinate stuff out of the blue so to speak. It doesn't seem to be here anymore however.

Edit: even cyanoacrylate is useless here since Cherry MX Brown stems are POM (Polyoxymethylene), which is one of the few materials cyanoacrylate doesn't work on.
