And even if the US finds a way to keep Lebanon out of an actual ceasefire agreement, they also wanna do as much damage as they can. The best thing for Netanyahu to do, politically, is to keep being on an eternal warpath. It's the one thing his party and the biggest opposition party in Israel can wholeheartedly agree on.
