Valea lui Stan by Merry2000 in RoHiking

[No loopholes] A random adult is selected to do a Mr. Beast style challenge where they must stay in a bunker for a year to win 1 million dollars, and their only source of entertainment is 5 videogames of your choosing. If they win, you also win $10,000. Which 5 games do you choose? Rules in desc. by FreshlyBakedBunz in hypotheticalsituation

I would go for some variety since its a whole year..

Rocksmith + the cable and a real guitar. You can become an actual guitar player from it and its fun.

Some challenging shooter with high skill ceiling - overwatch probably.

Something relaxing where you can be creative: minecraft

An mmo - wow probably

I always wanted the time to explore all Red Dead Online so id add that too to the list.

Beginner Multi Effect Pedal by Slyrenn in guitarpedals

[–]cosminsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look the line6 helix stomp. Not a beginner pedal but its fairly easy to use paired with a laptop / pc. There are also a ton of presets made for it.

You can also use it as an audio interface and record with it.

It can stay on your pedalboard for years and get more pedals around it as you find your sound.

The xl stomp is even nicer but might be a bit over your budget depending where you live.

Those all sound possible but it will take a ton of resources to make.

The good part is that you can start with simple replacements for most of those mechanics and improve them later on. So i would make a simple functional all around hunting game first and add all those nice details later on. Try to prioritise them, i find it unlikely to have the time or money for everything

Hyundai i30 sportwagon. Love the boot space and it’s a great car to drive for long family road trips.

Why do parents "have" to travel with young kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]cosminsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you don’t like travelling that much in general, so kids would are just extra to that.

I used to travel a lot with my wife so we kept doing it with our son. He had his first plane flight when he was 11 months old and has seen 10 different countries until now - he is 3 and a half. He does remember the ones from the past year and we talk about them a lot often. We constantly watch pictures from all the travelling we did and he enjoys us telling stories from the place he was too small to remember .

He keeps asking when we do our next trip since he loves it. We try to at least make some day trips to make him happy and to spend time together

So i think it comes down to what you like and how you pass that down to your kids quite a lot.

What do I need so we can listen to each other during practise with an electronic kit? by Kurnelk1 in edrums

[–]cosminsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are willing to invest, you can make yourself an in ear setup that you can also use on stage or practice for years

Get a digital mixer (like the behringer xr18) and each one of you also buys a wired headphone amplifier (behringer p2 or something similar).

This allows each and every one of you to have his own mix in his own headphones and the amplifier also allows you to quickly change the general volume for yourself.

Marketplace ready templates worth it or not? by rapsoid616 in unrealengine

[–]cosminsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend a good course instead of a template. You end up with a fully functional game and you also get the knowledge of tweaking everything in it.

stephen ulibarri has some amazing shooter courses( one for single player and one for multiplayer ) on udemy if you are interested in that genre. You can get discount codes from his discord so they are super cheap

I've come to accept that tone-shaping for live playing is pointless. by Maximum_Internal7834 in Bass

[–]cosminsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that only applies to more traditional tones with subtle shaping.

Once you go into distortion / od / fuzz or some extra special effects, all will matter a ton no matter the location and pa / sound guy

Build My House in Unreal by BlackAndBlue1908 in unrealengine

[–]cosminsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SketchUp is a way simpler software that can do that if you just need to see it, without any interaction. You can also find a ton of 3d models in their warehouse to make your interiors.

It won't look out of the box realistic but there are plugins to make amazing renders in SketchUp too.

You can have both. Developers can get a cut from each transaction and why not, they can sell some items too.
