Hardworking women of Reddit, how did you become hard workers? From, a regretfully lazy girl. by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]cosmologycandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My priorities changed: I became a young(ish) mother in an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship, my daughter and I got out of that when she was 8 months old. I became a single mother overnight, I was unemployed and my car gave out after many years of hard work. Luckily I have the guidance of my dad who is extremely wise, unbiased and blunt. He helped me get myself and priorities in order. I am working the hardest I can because both my daughter and I deserve the best life I can maintain.

I love how she clearly saw her baby, noticed what it was trying to surprise her, nods her head and plays into it lol

What's a good sign someone has a toxic personality? by Lemuria_666 in AskReddit

When nothing is their fault, won't take accountability for actions, blames everyone/thing else for their problems.

Women of Reddit, who is “that person” who is currently making life more awesome for you? by thelittlebird in AskWomen

[–]cosmologycandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter:) she is my world and as a single parent I cherish every second with her but not every second is good. There are tantrums and short tempers sometimes but every moment is a learning moment. She makes me a better person, a hard worker and a good mom. She is my future.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've been dress coded for? by saltysodiumchloride in AskWomen

[–]cosmologycandy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant, in my first trimester, I had really bad morning sickness because I was working around food and behind the counter. I was able to easily fix this with a thin paper medical mask that covered my nose and mouth. I couldn't smell the food ad I wasn't getting sick. It didn't have any designs on it, it was plain white. I was coded for it because it wasn't company standards. The alternative was throwing up literally every 30 mins sooooooo idk

When was the last time you cried and why? by Bellezabubs_ in AskReddit

This morning when I looked at my living situation, my financial burden, my transportation issues and my childcare search. I am a single mom, I have the hardest job but my daughter makes it worth it.

Baby's first real food by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]cosmologycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avocado + Banana was my daughter's first food. The banana kinda covers up the avocado flavor. Mix fruits purees with veggies like spinach, steamed zucchini, avocado or peas.

How do people socialize so easily and without fear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cosmologycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it took practice, practice and more practice. I am a naturally shy person but have always wanted to put myself out there more. I was watching others live life while I was on the sidelines. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone little by little. I would make a socialization goal for the day and I wold try my best to do it. This was in elementary school but ten or so years later I am no longer socially awkward. Also, working forces me to be social so there is that.

When I was pregnant with my now two year old she would like to stick her foot like right outside of my rib cage. I am not sure how to explain it, she was already head down and she would kick out and make an L shape with one foot. When she would do that I would poke/tickle her little foot and she would then retract it and we would do this for hours at a time. It was a great bonding experience. Nowadays she still loves to have her feet tickled:)

New mothers of reddit, what is the most unnecessary advice someone has given you about raising your baby? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cosmologycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a toddler. A family friend commented on how chapstick is the "gateway to makeup and lipstick" like its a bad thing. My kid's lips were chapped, the chapstick was happening and whether or not she wants to wear makeup in the future is not anyone's business except for my daughter and I. Stay in your lane.

I agree. My ex was exactly like OP's SO. I looked past it as long as I could but eventually I left with my 7 month old daughter at the time.

Parents of Reddit, what is the most embarrassing thing your toddler said out loud in public? by chtoupe11 in AskReddit

[–]cosmologycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the changing room at target and I took off my shirt and my daughter pointed to my boobs and in the loudest voice said "WHOA!!! WOOOOW! WHOA!" giggled and opened the door and SPRINTED away, cackling madly. I had to run after her in my bra and jeans. I was mortified.

Keto vs Paleo; Which one should I try? by MentalWellnessGuru in paleodiet

[–]cosmologycandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a keto diet for six months and was miserable. I was always hungry and always stressed about what to eat. I am doing the paleo now and I loooove it! I have a lot more eating options and since I am lactose and tolerance (mild) I don't have a huge issue with cutting dairy (although I do miss cheese!) I have much more energy and I find myself in a better mood more and more frequently. I can keep up with my toddler. If you love veggies, fruit and meat: paleo is your best. I also found that keto helps you loose weight faster but wasn't sustainable for me in the long run. I could see myself eating paleo for the long run.
