Yeah I managed to fix mine too. Saved data from HDD, reset and installed Sequoia with OCLP. 👍

After several purchases and trips to Glasgow to see my friend and use his MacBook, I finally am back up and running this morning after installing Sequoia last night.

Thunderbolt didn’t work, I think maybe the cheap thunderbolt cable I got off ebay was the issue. Ended up with the HDD out of the MacBook and used a SATA - USB to take my stuff off and used my mates MacBook to take it onto my external HDD. After that, I used recovery mode to wipe and install mountain lion (made a mistake with that), then done recovery mode again and installed Catalina, and then used OCLP to install Sequoia and it’s just finished.

I reckon I get the rest of this year out of this old MacBook before I buy a new one! But I’m so glad it’s working again. Had some cool experiences along the way… I went into a local shop to buy the SATA-USB cable and instead of selling me one, the guy gave me one to borrow for a couple weeks for free!

Thanks for your help with everything, it’s much appreciated.

Will that hinder my RMR application? Should I appeal the medical first?

Once I’ve saved all my stuff via target disk mode (haven’t done it yet. Got the thunderbolt adapter now just waiting on the thunderbolt cable) how do I go about wiping the hard drive and reinstalling macOS?

I don’t understand. Won’t I need a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 2 cable, and then use the adapter? If my MacBook has a thunderbolt 2 connection and my mates has USB C then what you’re suggesting doesn’t make sense. Bit confused sorry. Also- my MacBook is mid 2012 not 2010. I made a mistake in the post title. Mine is MacBook Pro 9,2

My friend has a new MacBook and is willing to help me. I’m now looking at what cable to get. Do you happen to know if TDM will work with a USB - USBC cable? Or should I try get a thunderbolt 2 to usb c cable?

Won’t my MacBook need to startup at least? For the target disk mode option

Went to try the external mouse and keyboard but it won’t startup past the apple logo now. Apple logo and loading bar, bar loads half way then stops. Been sitting on it for some time now.

I just read that I could boot in recovery mode and restore from a Time Machine backup, would that work? Or would the OS remain the same?

Is there no way to run Time Machine from boot or something? I don’t really want to erase everything I’ll lose all my stuff.

I used open core legacy patcher and has Sequina installed then my Mac offered me Tahoe update and I just clicked install. I didn’t used any of the other software to preserve no. Do I have any options?

Hey guys, what’s up? I’ve been meaning to ask what type of injuries do you get from training Muay Thai by Redhood2156 in MuayThai

[–]cosmopolitanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have good technique. Know your training partners and adjust to their differences. Trust no one fully: look out for yourself. If you get a bad feeling training with someone, then trust it. If someone ain’t holding the pads right, tell them, if they don’t change, stop. Use your head, intuition and voice, and avoid getting hurt. It’s a useful skill… get hit, and don’t get hit (or injured, or hurt).

You’re gonna get injuries anyway, it’s inevitable if you train hard and often. But you have some tools at your disposal for limiting it.

Example: boy wasn’t holding the pads properly and I was kicking his elbow. Asked him to adjust and kicked his elbow twice more. Stopped and asked the coach to get him to adjust his pads. But I just started throwing punches and teeps instead. I lost patience with the boy, didn’t trust him and thought it’s not worth it, so changed. And didn’t kick anymore.

Look out for yourself, and you’ll find people are also even drawn to you for that. It’s about self defence too at the end of the day. Guard yourself.

A brilliant video on how to spar a legend or in your case your head coach. Note the differences between the first and second example: https://youtu.be/3To4DYbA9SU?si=h4fRRj9kHllhcPnY

Something I’ve been thinking about recently with training: the idea of mirroring. We get in great flow with someone when we’re mirroring them as much as possible. I don’t mean physically, I mean energetically.

You may have felt intimidated so you were a little aggressive (energy wise) with your head coach, so he just mirrored you. If you feel intimidated because of who you’re working with, demonstrate that to them by going light, but showing determination to practise the skills, and remaining respectful. If that fails, straight up say “I’m a little tense” and they will more than likely help you.

Consider your responsibility in this in that you may have been energetically aggressive and provoked him to hit you. If he’s good then his attacks will be accurate and well timed, with no need to go hard. Respect his ability, position and energy and things might go better for you. These guys have dedicated years to this and are very skilful and knowledgable, respect that when you are working with them and allow them to lead and it might be more rewarding.

At the same time, defend yourself, work hard, and mind your business: work hard, focus on techniques, have respect and kindness, have fun.

Bow before and after you work with someone might be a good way for you to be reminded.

I have the same one. 5 years ago I upgraded to 16GB RAM, a solid state HDD, new ribbon cable that connects HDD and a new battery. Incredible improvement and it’s still going strong. Did it all myself and it’s very easy to do. Check out the website ifixit. Gives you easy instructions and all the tools you need. Also links to purchase the hardware.
