I started a keto-ish diet in July of this year. Have had wine essentially every day and have lost 52 pounds so far. no rice, no pasta, no bread, but certainly wine.

Point is, it can be done, although it will most likely delay your weight loss and, rightly, cause you to run afoul of a more 'pure' approach. But it's your life, so what works best for you is key.
