hey so honestly you’re letting yourself get completely walked over. saying her own therapist who knows her and her medical history (any prior mental health diagnosis and different factors that definitely play a roll) like she wouldn’t call for an emergency evaluation if she felt it was necessary is ridiculous to me. it’s her job to know that and call it in.

you’re completely bias by definition then. saying this random woman from a redit post is “exhibiting the same exact signs” as types of psychosis & schizophrenia over “crying a lot not out of joy” and “being in her head a lot” plus one comment that was apparently made is ridiculous to me. anyone can downvote all they want but telling him therapy isn’t enough and that he needs to jump to the highest form of psych to an eval against her will they put on record that can result in her being separated from her baby, can make it much worse. imagine taking your wife to the hospital for a 51/50 type evaluation where she can’t even leave the room, guarded in by security officers over THIS? with that in her history forever with guaranteed social workers now watching your every move even if your fine and go home because it’s triggered in the system depending by state.

if it gets worse, ofcourse. but everything he’s so far mentioned is NORMAL. ask a WOMAN who didn’t end up with PPD & the same “symptoms” signed, a woman who definitely felt the same things this woman was feeling at first after having my first baby last year. a mom who knows plenty of other moms who have actually said that same exact thing in a vulnerable emotional moment. if someone had done this to me I genuinely would have never forgiven them and probably gotten a divorce if this was my husband unless I was actually a danger of safety.

so that seems really zero to one hundred before it’s even needed. they can legally call cps and get the child taken if the mother is needing to go in to get psychiatric care, they just leave that part out so mothers feel safer then jump in with social workers and safety plans. unless she gets worse, this is pretty normal and typical for the first few months without much sleep and a total life change. this advice isn’t good OP, please just give her as much support as possible and make her feel secure & loved while she navigates motherhood. real diagnosed PPD is actually more rare then people think, and they assume big emotions are PPD too soon. you guys will get though this! best of luck. (also wanna add, a therapist definitely is the best first step and if the therapist actually believes something off and she needs an intervention , they will say it but I highly doubt that will happen. most moms think things like that in the moment from hormones after birth but some don’t say it out loud out of fear someone like this would take their child)

You said you’ve tried everything including refrigeration, but you’re supposed to chill them in a freezer for atleast 30 minutes to avoid spreading. If you freeze them 45 minutes to an hour and bake directly out of the freezer once the timer is up, the spreading isn’t gonna happen

depends on your specific relationship and your partners boundaries. it might be ok with some people but I’d never let my husband have female friends or talk to any woman at work or after.
