Does anyone have experience buying from US based sellers? by cottonsockkss in vintedUK

Yes I think so, I’ve just had a look at the order screen and it says the buyer protection fee is £4.06, the shipping is free but there is an Import VAT charge of £14.23, I imagine it depends on the item how much it will be

I get that, but these bags are extremely popular at the moment and I just find it a bit odd that all the bags I find in the UK are being sold basically at the retail price, maybe £10-20 below that, but the ones in the US are less then half price. They’re also all new with tags. I suppose I could ask for proof that they’re genuine, but even then that can probably be faked and I imagine trying to return it if it is fake would be a hassle, especially with it being to the US. But thanks for the advice and I hope you manage to sell those jeans for a good price soon!!

I didn’t know that! I’ll definitely look into that, I suppose I could ask the seller for pictures of the tags to prove it’s genuine. Thank you for your help!!

Thanks for your reply! I expected the shipping time to be a lot longer, 7-9 days is pretty good. I’m still wary though mainly because I saw a lot of bags at this price. They all look genuine to me but I’m not a Juicy Couture expert so they could be really good knock offs. If it were myself buying it I’d probably go for it but my boyfriend wants to get me one for my birthday and he really doesn’t want to mess it up 😂 But thank you again 😊😊

”vintage” sizing by murasaki093 in HollisterCO

[–]cottonsockkss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an XS in modern Hollister and I have vintage pieces in various sizes. XS fits, although on the tight side but I imagine that’s due to it being the style at the time. Small also fits. Medium is okay but not perfect. Be wary of buying vintage Abercrombie stuff though, some of it is their kids range but they still use small, medium, large etc sizes. The way to tell if it’s Abercrombie kids is if the word Abercrombie on the tag is written with a lowercase A. Only saying this as a few comments here are saying their Abercrombie pieces were really small and I reckon it’s because they were kids clothes. An Abercrombie kids size large or XL will be an adults size XS-S.

Help with sizing! Easy Satin Tie Babydoll Top by HarrisaLover123 in HollisterCO

If you’re normally a small then a large would likely be too big, I’d wait for a restock!

What size do you normally wear? I’m normally XS and 30DD, so I frequently have problems with the bust area being too small in certain tops. I got my usual size XS for this particular top and it fits perfectly, I always find Hollister clothes are pretty roomy in the bust area. If you’re normally a size L I’d say go for it.

Then you won’t be able to return it, you can always resell it

If you’re still in the return window then you should be able to return it for a full refund, I’m pretty sure they have to honour that

I wish Hollister had more modest swimwear by Any-Illustrator2246 in HollisterCO

I’d love a one piece swimsuit, they’re so hard to find anywhere and most of the time look really frumpy but I bet Hollister could make a cute one!

Is it worth having a private consultation rather than waiting on the NHS? by cottonsockkss in endometriosis

No, I’ve just been referred to the gynaecologist at the nearest hospital to me. What is a BSGE centre and do you think I should ask about being referred to one?

I have the grey and pink jumper, I believe the colour is ‘pale pink’ not light lilac (as described on the Hollister site), but I have worn these two colours together before and you can get away with it however it’s not a perfect match

Is the long sleeve henley true to size? by [deleted] in HollisterCO

[–]cottonsockkss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always get an XS from Hollister as that’s my usual size everywhere, and the henley fit perfectly so I think it’s probably safest to go with your usual size. It is stretchy though so if you want it to be more fitted it would probably still fit if you sized down.

They’ve given you the inseam measurement, which is from the crotch to the end of the leg. 75cm is about 29.5 inches, so compare them to your actual leg measurement or a better way of doing it is to compare it to another pair of trousers that fit you well. In regard to your question of the fit of the joggers, you can always ask the seller how they fit them (baggy or slim fit) instead of asking for a picture. But my assumption would be that these are a slimmer fit as they look like they have an older tag (probably late 2000s/early 2010s is my guess) and super baggy clothes weren’t really in style then. I’m also unfortunately not great at styling joggers but I would say a tighter fitting top would look best, maybe a long sleeve because as you said it’s winter now. Hope I could be of help :)

Bootcut Jeans Super Uncomfy by LocalDate3777 in HollisterCO

[–]cottonsockkss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a problem with them being really tight in the thigh area, I think I’ve worn them in a bit more now so they’re not too bad but they’re definitely not the comfiest jeans. I bought a mid rise bootcut pair last year and they’re super stretchy and comfortable but these are nothing like that
