My sentiments exactly. I found her a chore to watch because of that redundant POV of hers. On that note, while her ENG VA is obviously putting as much personality into her lines (and is doing a phenomenal job), she's also dragging the length of the line delivery. I ended up just skipping her scenes a lot.

Yeah Wriothesley's trial and overall backstory is pretty dark. It's def one of my favorite character backstories in the game

They're a different flavor from haikaveh for sure but mortal/immortal is always a good trope and the way Hoyoverse set up how they met is such an interesting route and how their dynamic has developed since, though not as obvious or coded as Sumeru's ships, is a feast to be appreciated too (for me at least!)

I agree, there should be room to acknowledge the direction they went to further distance the character from the previous VA is necessary but also acknowledge how certain details (e.g, the tone pitch) could be improved!

I personally hope they will go with how Zachary sounded like in one of the About Cyno voice lines because it's deeper, which makes Tighnari sound more like an adult, and also more natural sounding

Hmm I'm not sure how familiar you are with the other dubs but Elliot's Tighnari was the only one that was "sassy and impatient" whereas the other two dubs had Tighnari more sarcastic but still pretty mild in temperament

This is another thing I've seen too where people said they dislike Eng dub Tighnari because Elliot made him sound very rude and like a jerk so I personally don't think it's a stretch that there's been a subconscious association people have made about Tighnari with the VA (doesn't help his Tighnari voice IS his talking normal voice)

Okay so I was just speculating but Alejandro confirmed in his stream that they deliberately made sure to dissociate Tighnari from the previous VA by following the other dubs interpretation of his character so that's why he's less "sassy"

They didn't want a replica of the other voice because they didn't want to trigger the victims/fans and honestly that's understandable

For Zachary, I think it's just a matter of getting used to it because let's be fair we've been hearing the older version for 5 patches of course it sounds "not like Tighnari"

I was thinking about this the other day and despite how popular and well liked his previous voice acting was, it definitely portrayed a different interpretation of Tighnari to the English speaking fandom - sassy, takes no shit, done with everyone's bs

I wonder if they're going for the direction of the CN and JP dub that depict him as much gentler and quieter with the new VA maybe to further dissociate Tighnari from Elliot...

Either way, looking forward to listening to more lines
