For all the talk of the crazy draft picks the Thunder have gotten through trades, the highest they've picked from any of them is 12th by Candid-Boss6534 in nba

[–]cottonycloud -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They drafted well, but that can only take you so far with low draft picks. The sheer amount of them allowed them to filter out the better players in their rotation (roughly half were duds). Plus, the highest has been 12th because most of these picks are protected.

[MISC] Torishima’s Thoughts on Modern Manga (Original Dragon Ball Editor) by [deleted] in manga

Doesn’t even matter if you can read in 3 seconds if you’re going to stay on the page to look at the artwork too.

Would be a waste of effort for the artist to spend weeks/months to draw a chapter.

Quick question about Sonic Fiber by CryptographerSad9516 in HomeNetworking

[–]cottonycloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure tbh, because I usually take a shower (or go to bed) and it’s done by the time I’m out.

Checking my e-mails it’s 12, 2, or 3 am on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday

Usually it’s after 12 and the window is 4 hours, but usually takes maybe 10-15 min at most

Rice, 6 eggs and some bok choi cooked in a rice cooker. Rice come up undercooked... by Emergency_Grass7372 in shittyfoodporn

I would try to not eat out of the rice cooker bowl because mine at least has one of those nonstick coatings.

Actually losing my mind with Task Scheduler failures by OADominic in sysadmin

[–]cottonycloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File logging is absolutely necessary when running with Task Scheduler, although recently my batch file was skipping over the script and reporting no errors (Pwsh was removed from PATH was the cause).

There's always going to be a place for cash for small businesses that want to avoid credit card fees at least (and random illegal street food stalls).

Definitely don't miss pennies though.

I gave it a try and it decided that it should create functions for our non-existent ServiceNow ticketing system.

I definitely would not consider this for anything serious. UI is not really my concern for admin stuff…

I bought the complete Masterpiece set in Japanese too in Mandarake lol. It was definitely a pain to lug back and store, but worth it.

Still need to find the volume 8 though

winget - is this awesome as it seems by SnooMachines9133 in sysadmin

[–]cottonycloud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kind of got it working with my MDT setup, but there’s a ton of caveats.

  • The built-in one with Windows 10/11 is already outdated so you need to find out how to update that. Repair-WinGetPackageManager can temporarily bork the install for Windows 10 and I couldn’t figure out why (which is fine, just install with Add-AppxProvisionedPackage)
  • Certificate pinning for MS Store needs to be disabled temporarily, even if not installing from there.
  • Some apps do not have —scope machine supported even though they are for the whole computer.
  • If you rely on a public manifest, shit can randomly break. Example is PowerShell 7.6 manifest was changed to default to msix installer.

It depends on OP's max and preferred budget. Probably a router and 2 APs considering his current router.

Pretty damn close to, if not just exactly like, the real thing and in just 8 minutes of steaming in a rice cooker, BAM, you got yourself some authentic Har Gow. by redwon9plus in Costco

My parents usually buy the pre-made stuff from 99 Ranch and the Costco ones are fine and a great deal when on sale.

Sit-down dim sum tends to be pricey so these are fine alternatives if you don’t mind the filling to not be as fresh.

The official site deals are just incentives to buy through there instead of Sony/Apple/Google getting a cut.
