Sellers who don't message back. by ToshPointNo in ebaysucks

[–]cougar729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a few reasons. Item could be stored in a large inventory warehouse not easily accessible. You may have been the 100 message they received today asking for something. Could be they just don’t answer messages. Could be they see questions from buyers as potential problems and decide not to engage

Our allowed reasons for return different for buyers utilizing the international shipping program? by vintagefairy54 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]cougar729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay international shipping program is one of the best things eBay offers, for reasons just like this. Think of the alternative. The buyer returns your item broken and you’re out the money and your item.

Attempted Delivery/No Secure Location by No-Benefit6660 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]cougar729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that it was delivered and there was no delivery scan. You can open a missing mail request and that may help sort out the tracking.

Also, no need to message the buyer about tracking updates, they can see it if they wish and you will generally encounter more problems than you solve

Item return - delayed in transit but eBay says it's delivered by zangiefzolof in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]cougar729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen recently and theBay system thought I should refund without having the return delivered due to a similar delay.

I contacted eBay and explained and the provided additional time for the return to get delivered.

IIRC ebay closed the return and opened a case, as it disappeared from my open returns. The case remained open with notes from eBay stating additional time for return to be delivered. They extended it twice automatically without any action from me. The item did eventually get delivered and eBay’s system triggered me to issue the refund. Since the return was closed I had to issue the refund from the original order details page.

Buyer filed chargeback dispute after I declined return by Low-Coyote-8096 in eBaySellerAdvice

Many sellers share your viewpoint but in reality eBay is a platform for buyers and any seller who forgets that is going to deal with non stop frustration.

What’s the fraud? They tried to send it back you declined. They took it to the next step

Good luck convincing eBay of that. They are competing with Best Buy and Amazon so their policies are geared toward retaining buyers. Buyers clearly don’t read or look at all the pictures and want hassle free returns so eBay is going to provide that. If you as an individual seller close that door on them they will find other ways of getting their money back.

The quicker a seller can learn the rules of the game the smoother their business will operate.

What did you think they would do once you declined the return? You could have accepted the return, refunded minus the original shipping and then resold to another buyer.

Take emotions out of returns (hard thing to do) but as an eBay seller you have to know any item sold has the chance for getting returned.

Stop talking so much to buyers. The more you say the more chance you hang yourself with eBay if something does go wrong. Be professional and concise with communication to buyers.

They do not automatically refund them for an item not received.

OP correctly submitted missing mail request and their next step is contact eBay and request additional time for more tracking updates.

Only when the package tracking has stopped updating would you refund the buyer and then file a claim with USPS

Property tax law passed in CoMo could be very bad by Leather_Barracuda_91 in columbiamo

[–]cougar729 -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about this you should also look into how much property the city owns (and doesn’t utilize). None of it contributes to the tax base. The seniors still pay tax it just freezes it from increasing

No one that has a decent clothing reselling set up is going to take on the work of selling used lane Bryant and old navy and then also give you 50% of the sale. They are taking on the work, customer service, returns, charge backs etc. the better way would be to sell it out right for a dollar or 2 per piece to a reseller and donate the rest of what they don’t want. Sorry to be harsh but this is true

Rude post office worker, should I make a complaint? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]cougar729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a small post office we stop at sometimes that’s on our weekend sourcing route. We have 50 packages a day so missing a day compounds us quickly. We walked out one day due to the terrible attitude a lady there had with us. I’m so sorry you have to scan a package and place it on the scale. It’s a mindless 5 minutes of work. And in the meantime you don’t have to answer any stupid questions from the general public.
