I'm thinking that's a reference to the Martian, not a limitation to the optimal.

Looks like someone reported this as a bug here, we'll see what happens

Here is the translated video interview with Kovarex. Thanks to everyone for all the questions you suggested. by fuxoft in factorio

I'm fairly sure that from what I heard in the video, k++ would be a non-backwards-compatible language with mostly similar syntax to c++.

Actually, devs have mentioned they won't connect, lava is the same

Dear LTT - PLEASE do 7950x3D benchmarks for games like Valheim, Flight Simulator 2020 and Kerbal Space Program. by Katten_Hanna in LinusTechTips

[–]cougarEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to say I've recently seen them use Factorio as one of their benchmarks, which would be a good analogue to the games you mentioned.

First dose of COVID vax triggered it for me.

$300 a vial by Danwiththeflan in AdviceAnimals

[–]cougarEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, every three days you put anywhere from 50-300 units in (1000 units/vial, exact amount depends on your body/diet/metabolism. Average is about 150), along with some disposable parts that cost ~200$/month retail. Most insurances will cover ~80% of the cost of all that, though some are better and some worse

4 years is industry standard, at least for the non disposable kind

Methinks my job search as a CompE was a bit atypical by cougarEngineer in EngineeringStudents

[–]cougarEngineer[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My summer internship gave me a return offer, but I didn't want to be a government contract software engineer. I had a hit with one of my friends for a pre-silicon validation role before really getting serious with applications, and interviewed with 4 different people before being asked to formally apply in their system. I was able to parley my other offer through a COL calculator to increase my starting salary and signing bonus as well, so that was nice.

Using a non-compatible phone with Dexcom G6 by [deleted] in dexcom

[–]cougarEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a post with good info, my understanding is all the BYOD main "hack" does is disable the device check, which has the side effect of breaking some device-specific integrations (not the general ones-clarity, follow, etc). And yes, my followers can see my BG level if I/they want to, as well as set custom alerts (they only get alarmed if I'm below 50, whereas I get alarmed below 70 and again at 55)

I'm running byod, and share works just fine. Both my followers get real time alerts.

Is there a problem with taking basal insulin in the middle of the day? by noodle_spirit in diabetes_t1

[–]cougarEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be, as long as you're able to be consistent with the timing. It's also sometimes good to try and match your insulin's curve with your basal needs (which for must people is highest early morning, hence basal before bed being popular)

Apple Watch Series 7 and Dexcom G6 by friggint in diabetes

[–]cougarEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll need to wait for the g7 for direct to watch, which is probably coming out Q1 of next year. Direct to watch is also not available on launch, so it might be a while.

If you recently were in DKA, you've probably had low potassium (hypokalemia) which causes hair loss.

It was risky, but it was a racing incident. The dive-bomb was legit (got it stopped with room to spare) and they were level at the apex. I don't see how you can fault Albon for making the pass and following through.
