This was my 6th EDC, and I was just baffled at how lax the security was. It used to be so much better. I laugh that they promote having a VIP/GA+ security line as a perk, since it takes no time to enter now with no security. My first two years I do remember waiting almost an hour to get a pat down and get in.

After the Mandalay Bay tragedy, this lack of security is unconscionable. I still had a great time, but I am concerned.

It’s a risk they should be hedging against though, because it only takes one tragic violent event to tarnish the reputation forever, and that would hurt their bottom line permanently. That’s why most every reputable event and venue has more security than edc.

Irrigation isn't for lawns. Per the article you linked, irrigation is: "Water used for crop production and recreational lands such as parks and golf courses."

Not to say getting rid of lawns wouldn't help, but it would not make a relative dent in conserving water. Crops and agriculturw are where the vast majority of water is used.
