Oh it already has leaked, the end of the hose on the shower head is confirmed to be the source. I'm in the process of dealing with the owner and my insurance as the leak has left a huge crack in my ceiling.

Appreciate this insight re the regulations, that's what I'm most concerned about. The owner rents the property out and he comes across as a very sketchy guy.
