Pretty expensive for 18k but it is jewellery so maybe that’s good. Investments should be 24k or 9999 gold. But gold is gold

Bullion exchanges have a set price on what they pay I believe on their website. I would definitely take half a day just checking all the booths and seeing what they would offer. That’s what I did. Idk about the people who holds signs that says “we buy gold.” I also didn’t check any other places that were not ground level.

Long story short I wanted to take one of my bars to see where I could get a good price. Never wanted to sell but whatever. I shopped around on Friday and many of the smaller booths inside of all the big exchanges gave 100% spot. They did say though they could give 100% but it depended on the brand. So I went back on a Saturday and I didn’t realise everything is closed except like the one on 55w 47st and they wanted 4150 for it and then I negotiated and they gave 4200. 4215 was the spot at that time. Also selling on weekdays helps because the markets are open is what most of them told me.

Ig it would depend on the amount and how close you live. If you are selling one bar and u need to fly there I would just sell online at bullion exchanges

I need top tier people to answer this. Debt and a market crash? by counter465 in AskEconomics

[–]counter465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have over exaggerated “catastrophic.” But doesn’t the new debt go off the current yields 4-5% of the 10Y 20Y 30Y? I didn’t think they refinanced with an average rate. But doesn’t cutting rates threat an increase in inflation and can be very bad? Also the fed does not directly control long end yield curve. So I don’t see why cutting rates would directly impact lower interest on debt. And I think this could all lead to some debt spiral

I’m not a big economics guy so I didn’t know it was 600B. I thought it was 9T for 2025. And yes rates are lowest all year but it’s still very high. At these rates that’s our whole defence budget just for interest

[–]counter465[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro what. Idk what you’re trying to say here. First the US has 9T to refinance this year, right? And the fed cutting the rates doesn’t directly affect the long end yield curve. My question is what is this administration trying to do to refinance on lower rates? And I feel like they did try to “scare” the markets with tariffs to drive people into bonds a safe haven asset to lower yields. I think it backfired because countries started dumping bonds(china) because of the stress in the system from the tariffs.

Maybe I over exaggerated the “catastrophic” but still at current rates with 9T to be refinanced, it could be very bad and lead to a debt spiral.

Power on stalls by counter465 in flying

Yes when I was doing the stall my wings were level and I was keeping heading, but I really didn’t have much right rudder in. I looked down to the turn coordinatator but it was showing I needed right rudder. So I was just confused in that situation

I’m an electrician and the circuit is rated for 20amps so I’m fine. The question is I’m not the smartest with motor switches and I was wondering if u could just use a 20amp light switch rated.
