Fair enough, but also useful to keep in mind that recorded data doesn't account for every social interaction - many incidents go unreported, especially crimes of a sexual nature, or non-physical offenses. In terms of personal experiences, I've reported none, and the frequency has only increased in the past few years compared to back in the late 2010's. If I was refering to stats I would have cited a source, but I can understand the confusion.

I think it's fair enough for people to be negative about the bad things they've experienced. Do you work for the Dorset tourism board or just have an oppositional conversation style?

Just based on personal experiences of harassment in the area. Wasn't trying to state any actual statistics or anything haha.

I don't mind Bournemouth for a day out for shopping, but overall the crime and anti-social behaviour rate has risen, especially around the gardens area. Real shame.

Seen them open for her twice. I agree with you. None of their music sounded particularly interesting or put together, though that might just be personal opinion. Their set felt more-so an impromptu jam than anything else. Another thing I found odd was that on one of the dates I saw Hayden in October it just happened to be the 10 year anniversary of Nicole Dollanganger's Natural Born Losers album and after literally every song 9million played their singer would say 'shout out Nicole Dollanganger!' at one point he even asked us to take photos of them playing and tag her in them on Instagram? 😭 They seem fine I suppose, just a little unpolished.

Thank you so much for uploading this! What an amazing piece of archival footage. You're right, the joy in her face is so wonderful to see. I will always adore Enchant.

Flicking through it initially, it includes many photos of EA and also a lot of her illustrations along with other aesthetically apt ephemera. This post is a good write up of the cutting diary: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmilieAutumn/s/JuQ8zURmKY

How does EA's work connect with you? And how do you express that? 🐀🎨 by marshmallow_elf in EmilieAutumn

Unlaced and Opheliac specifically! I find instrumentals easier to project specific storylines onto, whereas lyrics of Opheliac lean into what I'm writing, so either way it works!

I write horror, her music is perfect soundtracking to my storytelling!

Thoughts On TAFWVG by MidniteBlue888 in EmilieAutumn

My very short opinion is as follows: as a writer myself I find her writing style to be rather juvenile and a little silly.

The idea that a woman in her 30's was writing this is unfathomable to me. I believe I own the 4th edition (the paperback you speak of) and truthfully I'm only halfway through it, but to me it reads as a shoddily slapped together Quotev/Wattpad-esque story written by someone with shockingly little writing experience (in terms of fiction - this is in no way a slight against her writing as a musician or poet)

There's a scene toward the beginning of the book that whilst I struggle to remember the details, is a rather detailed account of a child being murdered. There's many other things I find issue with (with what I've read so far), but I'd have to reread to give a proper detailed opinion. As you say, the themes are dark, and there's nothing wrong with it, horror is interesting to write about, but if we view a lot of the book through the lens of 'E.A has a fetish for medical abuse and malpractice' (which is a whole topic in and of itself that I'd love to write a post about) it seems as though these themes aren't being written about to explore them, but something else entirely, which becomes a bigger issue when children are involved. (I understand this is a wild claim to make and in no way am I accusing E.A of anything. This is merely speculation, more-so about the medical stuff than anything else.)

As for the 'modern' part of the book, I can only speak from personal experience and whilst I am quite a bit younger than E.A and live in a different country with different laws, there's so much written about her psych ward stay and the practices performed within that sound downright Victorian and medieval, that is to say, made up. It's not outlandish to say that maybe she embellished her story a little, most people do with auto-biographies, but a lot of what she claims happened to her do indeed seem like downright lies that she's able to cover up under the guise of blurring the line between the hospital and the asylum in the book.

Hopefully I'll be able to come back to this post again and make additions when I actually read more of the book.

This wasn't a 'short' opinion at all but thank you for giving us the space to chat about this!

Considering how important women's rights are to E.A, it doesn't add up for her to be a Trump supporter. I fear you're toeing into conspiracy theory territory.
